Maybe the sky isn't falling after all??? I would still like to see more consistency. This is encouraging. Thanks for the post.

I think that is pretty impressive. Even though Crompton is playing good we are still playing better than we have in the past couple of years. GO VOLS!!!

With all due respect, looking at just the stats is misleading since 657 yards of offense was put up on Western Kentucky, skewing our results from this year with respect to last year.

Just to think Mr. Football himself saw improvement is truly sick.:eek:lol:

We played some powder-puffs last year, too.

I have been watching the vols for 39 years and this is the low point, regardless of who is at fault. IN my time we never fielded a lesser quarterback.

Last year I watched in apathy due to my opinion that Fulmer had run the program down.

This year apathy has set in again because we keep doing the same thing over again and expecting a different result (QB).

I do not see improvement. Crompton can move the team at the end of the game when the outcome is less in doubt and Auburn is playing a safety zone. The first 3 quarters were putrid. Fumble, tripping and falling down, etc.

I love the Vols and always will but I am crying uncle with Jonathan. Uncle.

Jeff Francis was almost as bad as Crompton

So I may have to tune into the Vol Network in 10-15 years and hear Crompton as a sideline reporter????

There has been offensive improvement, look at the Auburn game from last year and compare it to last night's game. We couldn't even get a 1st down the whole second half last year. It's just that Auburn has improved more. It's never going to be what we want with the QB and WR's we currently have, and it isn't good enough to beat decent teams, but it is better than where we were at this time last year.

Anyone remember the first year of Johnny Majors.... we went 4-7 and had a Junior College QB but can't remember his name

I don't know what some of you expect. We have two walk ons in the heart of our o-line who don't have SEC size or talent and their heart is not big enough to overcome that reality. We have no playmakers at WR with any experience and we have two QBs who are bad and badder and many are on here are screaming mad.

I'll try to make this simple...we are where we are do to actions and decisions of the prior staff. This will take two years to work through and correct. Next year should be more fun because we're going to be struggling with a lot of very young and very talented players. I hate that we're down, but we are and demanding QB changes and railing on coaching decisions and play calling is useless. We're down because our talent level is down and the heart of this team with a few exceptions - Eric Berry - have some ingrained bad habits.

Crompton just does too many things that D1 QB's can't do. It seems like he trips and falls down at least once every game. It's just tough times to be a Vol. One thing is for sure, it will eventually get better. It just sucks to know that we are going to have to wait so long to see the fruits of Kiffin's labor.

I agree. It is impressive to watch Tennessee continue to be able to run the football better than last season. Nothing against the Sullins twins, but they are walkons for a reason. We have a hurt offensive line that has two walkons battling SEC DT's. It will be better once we get as much talent as all other schools.

I think Crompton is getting better. In fact, after our wide outs started making catches, he looked like he was getting in a solid rhythm.

Come on guys, we are on the way back.

If TN had AU's quarterback, we would have won at least 2 of the games we have lost this year.

The horses are coming, we will be fine.
