Joey Halzle linked to Florida offensive coordinator job

Tip #1: Keep telling yourself that
Tip #2: Get a 260 pound quarterback

I watched a bit of GT vs Georgia the last two years. Both times, the quarterback had the most carries. Check the stats.

In 2024 game, GT quarterback had over 20 carries and was like a human battering ram. An awesome performance.
Except Haynes King is like 210-215 not 260.

According to T Basillio Halsle's tired of vol fans always blaming him when things go wrong
Doubt he cares. If he wants to be more in charge of the offense for better and worse though he moves on. People will always question the success if you’re under an offensive head coach like Heupel

He hates recruiting

You realizes coaches are hardly recruiting at the level they used to pre NIL. Most schools have GM’s who are building rosters and recruitment.

Instead of chasing recruits who may or may not sign, feelers are put out to see if a player and school may be in ballpark financially to team up. It’s much more targeted now that just recruiting every waking minute.

Right, but his line can block fairly well. Especially the right guard is a mauler that you can tuck and run behind.

The Gators o-line is five super soft knuckleheaded marshmallows. Therefore, their quarterback needs to weigh 260+ to withstand the weekly beatings.

The dude they had this year can't hack it in the new system. They already know

I don’t disagree but the OP said Chip Kelley can recruit. If it wasn’t for NIL nobody would claim Chip is an elite recruiter.

Scoring more points than your opponent isn't only logical, it's totally necessary. Scoring 3 points or less in the 2nd half rarely gets it done.
Not all Halzle's fault. Heupel is accountable for that too, considering he's essentially the play caller. But it's definitely an issue that has to be corrected. Since he holds the title of OC, it ultimately falls on him.

Rightfully so. His ability to scheme players open, take advantage of mismatches, and reproduce great offense with 4 different QBs in 5 years might be the most impressive thing in NCAA offenses. We are on pace to have over 500 points scored this season. Second only to Hooker's second year.

Impressive prowess, indeed.
Sometimes he gets too cute with it but he does call some good plays. It’s the execution that’s lacking, which tbf is on CJH as well. Knowing your players limitations is also part of playcalling. Depending on a true freshmen TE to pick up a critical 4th down on a gadget play may not be the best decision when you absolutely need it.
