Galloway hit the nail on the head after the game. Mentioned that the talent is there, they just don't play well. He called out the coaching staff big time with that.
IMO, A perspective coach will look at the talent already in place and be impressed. I see less than 10 players currently playing that UT will miss next year, if all of the non seniors return. A new regime could easily turn this team around in one season, because the veteran talent will be in place.
Just my thoughts.:hi:
This is nothing like before. We have significantly more talent on the team RIGHT NOW. And the state of Tennessee has become a top 5 state when it comes to producing talent. Only Florida, Texas, Georgia, and California are projected to produce more elite college football talent in 2019 and 2020.
Tennessee is more attractive today than it has ever been.

I mean what results do you expect when a P5 coach 5 years in has TWO delay of game penalties because apparently he doesnt know the rules? Maybe he should work on his game clock eye discipline?
Check the 247sports composite rankings for the class of 2019 and 2020 as well as the ESPN 300 for 2019.
According to 247sports, the state of Tennessee currently has 20 players rated as composite 4-stars in the class of 2019. That is good for 5th most in the country after Florida, Texas, Georgia, and California. ESPN also has early rankings out for the 2019 class. They currently have 16 players from the state of Tennessee in the ESPN 300. That is also good for 5th most in the country after Florida, Texas, Georgia, and California.
In the 2020 class, 247sports has only the top 109 players rated. Of those top 109 players in the class of 2020, 8 are from the state of Tennessee. That's good for 5th most in the country after Florida, Texas, Georgia, and California.
All you have to do is look on the internet. Its not that hard.
This is the most relevant post on this entire forum right now. If Butch really is on his way out and we make a big hire we could be heading for a generation of top tier talent. And with that the chance at some real hardware.
Sure there is. The same reasons we failed to do so in the past two searches. Now, it doesn't mean we'll strike out again this time, but we'll need a different mentality making this hire than we've demonstrated in the past.

The only flaw/reality is that UGA and UF are "gold mines" too and the key to the SEC East. Smart has UGA rolling right now and Gator fans will not continue to put up with McElwain's terrible offense. It is not impossible, but our work is usually cut out for us in the East...not to mention a Saban led BAMA program is our permanent common opponent in the West.
I disagree. There is talent on the team but not a lot of elite talent. How many of our players could start at Georgia or Alabama. We do not have anywhere near the talent of these two teams.
Are you like 12 yrs old? You do realize prior to Derek Doolaid that the previous 85 yrs Tennessee was the winningest College football program in the country?!!! Yes all the way back to 1925!
The schedule is and always had and always will be tough but UT is a stalwart in college football always has and always will be!! Get the right coach again and we will be right back on top!
