Joey Aguilar another year?

I really hope Joey and the vols wins 10-11 games and he plays so well that he gets a decent draft grade. In my lowly opinion he deserves a shot if he does that
This. Aguilar has been a revelation so far. First QB we've had under Heupel to throw for over 300 yards vs Georgia (*Hooker and Milton went for 332 combined in 2021, Aguilar went for 371 this weekend), and threw for twice as many TDs against Georgia (4) as our 2021-2024 totals combined (2). He looks like the real deal, and now everyone's hoping he'll keep lighting it up. We'll see!

If he does light it up the rest of the year, he should earn a spot in the draft somewhere. And honestly that's probably better for him and for us. If Heupel gets a journeyman QB from a community college route and puts him in position to get into the NFL, isn't that just another reason QBs should be lining up to play here? And if he doesn't light it up then everyone's going to be clamoring for GMac anyway.

Some people said Joey does not have another year of eligibility but I'm trying to figure out why. After the Pavia rule should he not have two years since he played two seasons at Diablo Valley? Before that at City College of San Francisco he redshirted for his first year, and the second was canceled due to COVID. What am I missing, to me it seems he should have a redshirt extra year, a COVID extra year, or another year for the two years he played at Diablo Valley.
The waiver for Juco players was for 2025 only at this point. Has nothing to do with how long they were in JC
