This. Aguilar has been a revelation so far. First QB we've had under Heupel to throw for over 300 yards vs Georgia (*Hooker and Milton went for 332 combined in 2021, Aguilar went for 371 this weekend), and threw for twice as many TDs against Georgia (4) as our 2021-2024 totals combined (2). He looks like the real deal, and now everyone's hoping he'll keep lighting it up. We'll see!I really hope Joey and the vols wins 10-11 games and he plays so well that he gets a decent draft grade. In my lowly opinion he deserves a shot if he does that
If he does light it up the rest of the year, he should earn a spot in the draft somewhere. And honestly that's probably better for him and for us. If Heupel gets a journeyman QB from a community college route and puts him in position to get into the NFL, isn't that just another reason QBs should be lining up to play here? And if he doesn't light it up then everyone's going to be clamoring for GMac anyway.
