Okay, your argument is: keep the best QB and let the others walk if they don't like it.
My problem is that Coach Heupel isn't just coaching one season and needs to have guys developing yearly, not just coming in in January, picking up the system, and doing what Joey A did (even though he's done well.)
Maybe it's completely dead in the NIL era, but one of the reasons for our success was that we have had good locker room cohesion, guys that grew into a unit together (remember Heupel's team building games,) and a strong sense of internal team leadership.
Seeing G-Mac kind of get "bumped out" after doing everything correctly, sweating and working with the team, waiting his turn, etc isn't good for team chemistry.
Next year's players would be watching Heupel NOT respecting the work, training, etc G-Mac has put in for the Vols and that's bad in the long run.
