Joe Schad just reported...

I can honestly say that almost everybody I knew in Knoxville when I was at UT smoked pot, or rather would smoke pot. Professors, players, students, cops, lawyers, accountants, the taco bell drive thru guy...you name it. I may, or may not have smoked with all of the above.

Of course that was a long, long time ago and Fort Sanders was a whole different animal than it seems to be these days.

Thoughts on whether pot should be legal or overlooked is irrelevant.

Rules are rules.

My employer has policies that I have to follow or I lose my job. Such is life. I follow them.

Please learn proper punctuation and grammar. Sweetheart.

Haha..luv your sensitive heart..I actually speak quite well but this is a message board not an English or Debate class. In the age of txting and making things shorter unless your talking, things dont have to be perfect grammar. Someone got their feelings hurt. Do what you Cheese but if your sensitive dont show it on here.

No, no, don't get me wrong. I agree totally with you. I am not advocating for DR at all. He knew the rules when he signed up. There is no excuse for that.

I was responding to the post about occasional smokers. I was merely pointing out that I have known quite a few casual smokers from all walks of life and most were good, hard working people.

There are definitely professions where society at large cannot allow people to smoke pot. That is just a fact. Luckily I am not in one of those professions.

I have no idea what any of your posts say. They are impossible to read.

Then, there are the people who actually believe that communication is the process by which a person seeks to express thoughts in such a way that others understand them.

Speaking, writing, or texting, without care for whether the other person understands, is mental masturbation. Don't be surprised when others deem you ignorant by how you project yourself.

That would involve me caring about someone I have never met in person thinks. Chances are pretty good i dont give a damn about you. Just sayn there Alf..

Hmm. This seems interesting. Days after Dooley pulls his "fake injury for Bray", he says that he "doesn't expect him to be with the team". Anyone think that it is in any way possible an attempt to get into Da'Rick's head... That is, put the fear in him that his career may be in the dumpster in many aspects, and hopefully that fear turns into him doing what it takes to impress the personel here at TN.

Doubtful, but it could be a mix of these two things. Putting the fear into someone where nothing else has worked-they've literally yet to give him a substantial punishment... As well as a serious decision that could only be effected by a miraculous 2-3 week turn around.

I sure hope so, we need his weaponry

I'd guess they told him he was going to be suspended for first 2 games and he threw a fit and decided he was better off doing his own thing. Just the way it has been worded with Dooley.

There is more than a kernel of truth in your statement, He showed his ass in his meeting with D Hart, Dooley couldnt save him from himself.

Seeing as how those few weren't meant for you then I would guess you would not understand them. If you wanted to converse all you had to do was ask. I am a friendly, outgoing person so dont be shy. Most of us here are Vol fans so you're amongst friends for the most part. Just jump right in about anything Vol related. :)

I was really afraid something like this would happen once they got back from being out of town. Dang.

Then feel free to petition the NCAA, SEC and UT to get this rule changed. Until then, there's consequences to be had.

Exactly. How is someone supposed to learn from his mistakes when there has never been a single serious consequence from having committed such mistakes?

This is a great suspension, whether he comes back with the right attitude or gets the hell out with his me-me-me mentality. There's no room for nonsense on this team, but there's plenty of room for men who have proven to have learned from their mistakes and show it on and off the field

Either way, win-win situation for TN in my opinion. Like I said, he either comes back the right way or he leaves the wrong way. At the end of the day, if he's not VFL, then he's not on the field

Thanks for proving my point. :hi:

And likewise, Thank You for proving mine. Glad you got that off your chest and can worry about something actually worth worrying about. You sound alot like my Father. I love him to death, but he is extremely Anal and would have a coronary worrying about and sweating the petty stuff. Just chill, enjoy life and lets all sweat out pour first game next Fri. Now that is something to sweat! GO VOLS!

Dude, I was trying to do you a favor. You were writing like an idiot. You followed that up with the rationale that you wrote like an idiot because you don't care if people you don't know can't understand you-- while writing it on a PUBLIC internet message board. lol

If you only care if people you care about understand, there is a technology for that. It's called e-mail.

I'm not sweating on this. It was for your benefit. Not mine.

With that said, I feel like it has been time well spent, considering the obvious, and instantaneous evolution of your spelling and grammar since you were called out.

I knew you had it in you, Peaches.

I can honestly say that I was a teenager in the 70s, went to UT for 4 years and graduated in the 80s, lived a couple hours from Amsterdam for 3 years in the 90s when I was in the army, and I am not a religious or moral nutcase.......and I've never tried pot one single time. So, there's some of us out there that can follow the rules.

The simple fact is that all players know they are subject to random and mandatory drug testing. Anyone who knows this and is stupid enough to continue smoking weed is too stupid to deserve the playing time. I say give the backups an opportunity to prove themselves. I bet that Carter or Blanc might just show a few people what they can do...
