Joe Milton 2.0 (merged)

Nico’s indecisiveness is not good.
It’s like he has been punched in the mouth and doesn’t know how to respond.

His confidence level is low and the coaches confidence in him doesn’t seem to be much better.

Hope he figures something out this week, bama bums will be licking their chops……….

I agreed with this sentiment until the 4th quarter. They took the gloves off and he was ripping it, just wasn’t accurate enough. Holding out hope that things will slow down for him soon

Milton was a 6+ year QB. Nico has played 6 games.

Stop. Joe Milton was doing this as a fifth year senior. Nico is a redshirt freshman.

You’re asking too much for a redshirt freshman. O Line average, and Halze is easily replaceable.

Nico still just a red shirt Frosh! Not elite just yet, but might be by the end of the season

Can’t wait to run Nico off and get a JG2.0 back there
Not to be argumentative but, I wonder if any of you and, others not quoted have a changed mindset now?

Nico is an enigma.

He throws a really good ball and has plenty of arm strength to make all of the throws.

But….

Physically, he needs to put on significant weight.

Mentally he is nowhere near where he needs to be. He struggles to make reads and as a result, he hesitates and holds the ball too long.

I would say that Heupel coulda developed into a good, maybe great, QB. But (there’s that word again), I don’t think his dad woulda ever got out of the way and I also think that Nico’s spoiled, entitled makeup woulda made it impossible for him to develop physically or mentally. He would never put in the work necessary in the film and weight rooms.

He and his dad will never accept the gift they gave to UT’s program by leaving. Because I have to believe that the locker room is better for it.

Just a terrible job of parenting.

He seems disinterested in playing. Just going through the motions. I don't think he loves the game, and because of that lack of love, he doesn't have the drive to work at it. He looks exactly the same at UCLA as he did here at UT. Same physique. Same approach. Same dear in the headlights look.

Yep, IMO if Nico had to go to a JUCO and slowly climb the ladder he would had opted not to play football. You can make NIL money now days with God given talent but to be a leader and a top D1 player you have to be Driven with a desire to be your best you.

tbh from an outsider fan pov, the book on Nico is still open. But I agree it will be getting to the point where you can start to draw some conclusions soon. And it is very possible that the coaches were already drawing those conclusions in the spring.

this thread.

The title of this thread is insulting to Joe Milton because Joe gave his all for Tennessee.

I agree with the sentiment that he doesn't care. He's like that Rosen guy from UCLA years back. That dude had all the talent but was generally apathetic towards the game

Not to start something..but let me go back and copy and paste at 2 AM several quotes from different posters in a thread dead for 10 months trying to call people out and ask a rhetorical question under the guise of a gotcha.
Btw I I don’t mean to offend but with all due respect and I mean all due respect, these types of prodding posts are moronic and weak.

I couldn’t agree more. Joe Milton is a very stand-up dude and nothing but respect for that guy. Plus, he was better than most on here give him credit. Not great, but a functional QB his last season. We lost a lot more than Hooker from that previous year’s team.

Nico is the antithesis of Joe Milton.

lol… Didn’t even notice the timestamp.

I’m kind of proud of my contribution though.

Fans are dumb

Really weak that this is your first post in the year old thread. You might have a point of you had been predicting it correctly from the beginning.

How dare anyone have an opinion! This crap doesn't make for a good discussion. Plenty of other threads already beating this dead horse
