Joe Brady?

On one hand, he could be the next Dabo; on the other hand, he's a huge risk due to inexperience. He would definitely need to bring a DC with head coaching experience.

Good gravy we just want to suck forever don’t we?

I expect this from the admin but can the fans please skip the dollar bin and at least hope for a quality HC. It’s time to stop screwing around and make a splash. No more “up and comers”. Go.Get.A.Winner.
The sad irony is, we’ll probably fire Pruitt, hire Freeze, who will do absolutely nothing here but get a huge payout when we fire him in 4 years, South Carolina will hire Brady and he’ll win multiple SEC titles and play for NC’s. That’s how far I’ve sunk, I expect the worst in every situation, involving Tennessee football. Our “up and comers” never come up.🤷‍♂️
GBO!!

He will get NFL interviews after this season. I don't think he's a realistic option for Tennessee.

I'm sure one day Joe Brady will be a great head coach, but I dont want him to cut his teeth here. We've done the "up and comer" thing the past 4 coaches and wiffed. We need a proven, ready to come in here and use the talent and fire up the players type of coach. Tired of "waiting for next year / year 0" excuses.
I'm sorry, but I missed the "up and comer" hire. Who was he? To my fuzzy memory, our hires have been strictly head-scratchers, guys who'd never be seriously considered at places like Bama, Georgia, or Florida.

You mean we're not supposed to Google our new head coaches?

No more taking a chance on these “up & comers”.

We’re in no position taking a risk on someone whom we hope will work out.

Pay the money and hire a proven HC that knows how to win!

Lane Kiffen, Derek Dooley, Butch Jones, and Jeff Pruitt. Other than Kiffen, not a damned one of these hires could be considered an 'up & comer' (and even that is debatable--he had been fired from his last job). I have no problem with an 'up & comer' as long as he really qualifies. I'm old enough to remember when Doug Dickey was described that way. He pulled U.T. out of what looked like a bottomless hole. I'm good with whoever can do that again.

My wish list if we part ways with Pruitt. Long shots, but it's the caliber of coach we'd need to justify dumping Pruitt and avoid the up-and-comers.

First-Tier
  1. Urban Meyer (you either love or hate him, but he'd be the best bet to see IMMEDIATE results)
  2. Hugh Freeze (we've talked about him to death already here, so not much else to be said)
  3. Steve Sarkisian (why is no one talking about him? His past isn't any worse than Freeze or Meyer)
Second-Tier
  1. Luke Fickell
  2. Josh Heupel

Somebody's probably already said this.. And I'm sure Brady is a fine coach... But take a look at that offensive roster he had last year. Now, credit is due for keeping it on all cylinders, but damn he had ridiculous talent to work with.
