JJ do better man

I love the guy too. Loved the aggressive hit, loved it. But he went way overboard after the hit. Went off on the kid on the ground, ripped his helmet off and then stepped on the kid’s head. Not sure how anybody can watch and conclude anything else other than everything that happened there from JJ was intentional. I fully expect some punishment to come down from the conference.
The Vandy player wasn’t just laying there like a stiff. It wasn’t all JJ

Looks like they’d find more excitement in the Pickens punches from the Georgia game. That was completely ridiculous.
The punches and then grabbing him by the facemask and pulling him straight into the wall...that was all 100% intentional with absolutely zero way to spin it.

As much as I’ve enjoyed watching him make plays, that tackle still makes me wonder if JJ should have been a safety instead of a receiver

He would have probably set an NCAA record for the T-word penalties.

Just saw a different angle of this on Twitter - there was definitely no stomp - reporters that are saying stomp need to have their eyes checked. It was more like JJ's foot brushed the side of the Vandy's player head followed by JJ adjusting his foot so that it landed on the ground. This has only blown up only because of who he is.

The got tangled up scuffling on the sideline,JJgets up,turns away, possibly stepping on players.head. of intenional.D.J.Shockley of SEC network stated it was deliberate.Hey, Shockley,do some more coke to help out your pro career!Georgia dog flapping his gums.Ifypuwant,D.J.,look at a deliberate cheap shot by a Ga.lineman on Shy Tuttle a couple of years ago if you want to see.deliberate!

ESPN says it was a “step” and not a “stomp”. Everyone has their perspective on the video (opinions will not change). The Vandy player is fine and chatting it up with Vols after the game.

So why are we still talking about this? 😂

May not have been intentional, but was certainly avoidable. The part I find funny is how there seems to be a consensus that the hit was fine. 30 years ago it mattered whether or not the offensive player had actually put his foot down out of bounds. Nowadays you can't drill a guy at full speed when he's "giving himself up" by stepping out of bounds, you can't drive him into sideline stuff, and you can't tussle with him on the ground. Zebras missed that one.

Because some of us ain't mad cause we won so we gotta be mad about something UT did.

We cry, its what we do.

Sept.- We list to GaSt, we'll be lucky to win 2 games, can't even get to a bowl. That's all I wanted, didn't care how we got there, just get there and we can't even do that.

Nov. - Would be 9-3 instead of 7-5 if we hadn't crapped the bed in September. Who cares we neat beat Muschamp for the first time ever, they suck. Who cares we beat Mizz for the first time since 16, they suck. I don't care that we beat Vandy by 18 points, we should have stomped them. Didn't even cover the 22 point spread and they suck. I'm not impressed that we started 2-4 and ended 5-1 because everybody we played sucked. I'd be much happier if they had all been elite teams and we lost, then I could really do some crying. But this will have to do. Maybe we'll suck really bad next year.

Yeah, he pretty much was. Don’t get me wrong, I loved it except for when he ripped the kid’s helmet off and cleated his head. JJ was all over the kid after putting a lick on him that was beautiful. Let’s just not get it twisted though regarding what happened. JJ did all of it.

Most people agree about the step on the head, but it's amazing how many posters don't see JJ taking off the helmet or refuse to acknowledge it.

Wasn't it Dan Patrick that said that?

It was Fowler. He said something along the lines “They are in a trailer park frenzy in TN that Peyton didn’t win the Heisman”. I don’t recall Fowler ever apologizing for the remark.

Condescending know it all asswipes will disagree, but I agree with you. There are those like me that didn't think JJ should have been allowed back on the team. I admitted I was wrong and glad I was.

Others have been mad that they were wrong and now they're getting satisfaction from believing they were right all along. Lol, its absolutely amazing the lengths people will go, just to be right. The funny thing about it is, they are the only ones they fool.

Don't know why in the hell JJ stepped on that kids head after he ripped off his helmet. Come on man do better.
Your taking this opportunity to chastise JJ for that particular play but I haven’t seen anywhere you bringing up the play with the Vandy player ripping off the Vols defender on the the first play from scrimmage. This is by far a more damaging play. Both players could have got seriously hurt. In fact KeShaun Vaughn got the worst off it.
