As much as I like to bitch about ticket prices, it has nothing to do with coaching salaries, and everything to do with the fans who will repeatedly pay championship prices to watch us go squander games away yearly. As long as those seats are full they will continue to go up.
You think there was no S&D struggles in the late 90’s - early 2000’s when we were rolling? Yet prices didn’t approach today’s levels on an inflation adjusted basis. Obviously, overall prices have risen on everything but current ticket prices aren’t strictly a function of the S & D. Operating programs has gotten stupidly expensive, initially sparked by the coach’s salaries. When Ole Miss is willing and “able” to make a coach the highest paid in CFB history it shows how stupid things have gotten.

Including the coaches that have been fired this season, he represents 14/16. Elko and Brian Kelly are the only two who aren’t his clients.
CJH is not a Sexton client. He is represented by Rick Smith with Priority Sports group, per On3.

EDIT: I got curious and found that Eli Drinkwitz is not a Sexton client and neither is Jeff Lebby. Lebby is; however, represented by Sexton's agency CAA.

S&D. You mentioned it. It really is that simple. If 102K aren’t packing the stands then they are forced to think twice about those salaries. You better believe as long as those seats are full those salaries are going to keep going up.

The point is there was 107K in the 90’s - 00’s and you could till afford to take a family to a game. Actually, there is an S&D problem, we’ve removed 3000 seats and apparently have stopped selling SRO tickets for football. Salaries for coaches have literally 10X’d in 20 years at most universities.

Everything has 10Xd in the last 20 years. Except normal working salaries. It’s not a football problem. It’s an economy problem.

When I was at UT and Jimmy was a student trainer under Majors and Mike Rollo he was always lobbying the Star players “…when you get out of here and get to the NFL you need to hire me as your agent…”
