Jimmy Sexton is known as the 'super agent', he has a reputation to protect if he wants to be the guy that can get his clients the best contracts, otherwise he isn't worth his fees.

Right. And this is a huge egg on his face. One of his clients has been effectively ruined from getting a big time gig and his history with Penn State's pedophile scandal rekindled.

AD deserves every ounce of bad press that is being slung around, but not the people who expressed major frustrations with the potential hire. This is the exact reason people hire search firms. A discussion would likely have happened that would have discussed the potential fall out.

Exactly. A search firm does the dirty work vetting potential candidates. This is why companies almost always use them when hiring senior level people. You don't want surprises when you are dealing with the finalists. Stupid move by the AD
