I know that I will catch more grief because many of you see him as too old school, but do you think that he would fair well at Tennessee or even be interested? Just a thought because deep down we all know that Phil will be back for atleast one more year. So, maybe we should focus on a replacement for Chavis......

Isn't Jimmy Johnson 137 years old?

We want someone to coach us, not tell us stories about the good 'ole days.

hold on now...Jimmy is not that old, and has had much more success than Lou Holtz. Madden never coached a college game, much less an NCAA Champion and multiple Supe Bowl Champions. It was just a name to throw out there, chill out and get over yourselves. Okay, so who do we bring in to coach the Defense?

How does driving a racecar qualify somebody to coach football?

that's what i thought. JJ would have way too much to worry about being in the middle of the Chase for the Nextel Cup to be an effective coach.

JJ could be coaching an nfl team now if he wanted for 5 mil a year. He's happy fishing 300 days out of the year and making $1 mil for fox.

I wish I was half as cute and funny as some of you think you are.....

Hey, it's like the Jim Rome show, give it more than 28 post. Some of us use humor to replace the sadness Chavis put inside us this season. :p

Jimmy Johnson (the football coach) could make the Vols a better football team in one week.

He could bring in Michael Irvin as OC and they could buy a white house in Knoxville. :)
:lolabove:

Jimmy would put the fastest players on the field, and leave them their until they learned what the heck they were doing. He would predicate every scheme to getting and keeping his best athletes on the field.

If UT hired Jimmy Johnson, I would walk on broken glass from Miami to Knoxville to attend the initial press conference.

Well, since this thread appears to be going nowhere, How about Tony Dungee as head coach and Peyton manning as OC and QB Coach.

Jimmy Johnson is the best coach in football, period. I'd prefer that anyone making comments along the lines of not wanting Jimmy to disassociate themselves from UT sports.
