and yes, it's ugly. it's messy, and it's not fun. and yes, what has happened on Sunday, and since, we will have to pay for. and we're doing that.

but the message being pushed needs to stay on point.

and eventually you'll start see more pieces coming out like the one Griffith put out about the hamstringing of assistants' salaries, and the series put out on Last Word on Sports (rocky top revolt)..you'll start hearing more folks like Boamni Jones explaining the 'why'. it's already happening locally and regionally.

there's great reference material out there, like the Peter King SI article describing how dysfunctional the browns organization has been since Haslam took over, from 2014.

there aren't enough people that know enough about it, and there sure as heck aren't enough people talking about it, especially nationally.

As to the fans actions: i agree with what happened with Schiano, however we have fans actively seeks negativity to every hire after him, pushing people to contact then persoanlly. You simply cannot do that as it is viewed very poorly. While i understand "we dont care what they think" you have to care what some think. When you dont, we see the result.....noone wants to coach here.

The Haslem stuff needs to be handled behind the scenes. Someone over there has to step up and take care of that. Currie should also be fired.

So whether we agree or not, the disarray in the admin, topped with past treatment of former players and coaches along with the reaction of fans at every coach they dont like (Actions at basketball games instead of supporting the team) is all harming our program. People can act like its not true if they wish, all you have to do is watch the coaching search to prove that its true.

Said although is a great coach he doesn’t fit in so he just doesn’t see it working. Basically was at a lost called it a top25 program. Did say the fan reaction hurts

This whole thing is starting to remind me of what happened to Miami in the early 2000’s . Except the Hasscams are much worse then that Nevin Guy Miami was dealing with. Miami ended up clearing everybody’s ass out and started over .

It's at the point where it seems like they're deliberately trying to sabotage the program.

**** how we are perceived nationally. Those in the game, coaches, know the deal. Coaches are not coming to TN because of the fans, they are not interested due to the administration.

Our fans are sick and tired of the powers that be accepting mediocrity and that is what all of the uproar is about. I'd bet my bottom dollar that there are top flight coaches around the country that would give their eye teeth for the passion our fans have, the facilities and the chance to run of of the T leading a winning football program.

well like i said, i agree with you on the short term hurting the program. you can't have what has happened, and it not.

my point is once you've picked that fight, you have to be then willing to get to the other side.

i too don't agree with the social media attacks on the candidates or chants at the game etc....

as for handling the haslam issue behind the scenes, i think it's blatantly apparent from the last 10 years, that is incapable of happening so long as he continues to have a hand in who chancellors and AD's are going to be.

so if this is what has to happen to bring this to light, shift the power away, get people that can, and would be allowed to, do their job in the best interests of the University of Tennesse vs. wht Jimmy Jr. wants done, then we're better off for it.

i'm not blind or naive to the short term ramifications of it, the national perception, nor the obstacle it presents to finding a coach. i just think getting to the other side of this is worth it.:thumbsup: (i promise, im not yelling...:))

It's the day and age we're in. Instant information which is usually incorrect. Let's face it, if we hired Schiano, they'd be on us for lack of judgement after we just made a big settlement for sexual assault. Additionally, SDS, 247, ESPN, etc push out stuff, knowing VN will jump on it, along with local media's "very reliable sources"...ugh.

Job 1 after Schiano Sunday should have been to retain a search firm and let them vet some targets without Currie flying around the country with his knee pads.

If not for past 10 years of dysfunction Schiano may have even gone thru. Initially, I was embarrassed, but now I don't really care what any national media thinks.

This is more about dead-man-walking AD, and can a coach trust that the man who hires him will be here in two weeks.

What does this mean? We didn't want another Butch Jones taking over and failing. The fact that the administration tried to shove him down our throat on a Sunday afternoon, when they thought no one would be paying attention tells you how unpopular they feared their decision would be, but they did it anyway.

When the Gators fired Mac for failing to beat GA, after 2 successive trips to ATL, the national press didn't call them unreasonable and whack jobs.

Coaches are not coming here because they know they are set up to fail. They will not subject their families to what will follow once they do, and that comes from the fans. Im not saying the fans are to blame but they are a factor.
