someone mentioned earlier they like doug matthews and i have to agree i think he does a very good job on the show. considering he was very good friends with cpf he has done a good job putting that aside when talking about the current staff.

i didnt think hyams blasted the coaching staff about the qb's. he was actually asked about the qb's and said he thought the staff waited too long to offer on many of them. i have to agree with him.

btw - i hate the job plaster and his puppets do in the afternoon. anytime i get a chance to bash nashville sports talk i take it. i hate plaster and his year round hour by hour braves/baseball talk

should they offer qb's who they don't think will make an impact? I would rather them hold off and get the right one than grab any just to make the ridiculous local media happy

you might be right, but it seems they treated some of the qb's the offered like sloppy seconds. My point was more that he was asked what his opinion was and he gave it, that has also been the opinion of many on here as well as other sports writers.
JH also went on to say he didnt think they were out of it with any.

What he's said, and how he has said it make it blatantly obvious how he feels about Kiffin and the rest of the staff. He takes pot-shots at them, which is fine, but he constantly does it. I'm all for non-bias radio, but hell, he's obviously biased against Kiffin et al.

Oh I don't disagree at all... I'm just saying I'm pretty certain he would have taken shots at pretty much any coach after Fulmer was let go.

Will West is horrible. He thinks he knows everything but in reality he knows very little. He's just loud mouthed and his voice is annoying as hell to me. Keep Will West in the background where he belongs...

I'd rather listen to anything on 560 before Hyams. That includes Bill King. And I can't stand Bill King anymore.

Mark Howard never has been a UT fan. I think he liked Phil. He takes pot shots at LK when he gets a chance. Wycheck seems to take up for LK, not sure he likes him as much as he likes arguing with Howard. Jimmy sounded even more clueless this morning than normal. The D remarks made no sense at all. Statistically we may not finish any higher than last year, but that is not the only sign of how good your D is.

Basilio and Beano were in the Brian Kelly camp. Hyams was firmly planted on Butch Davis' jock... even up to the day before the Kiffin announcement.

That's right... I think Hyams had something favorable to say about all the rumored coaches, except Kiffin and Leach.

Heard it from Jimmy for a while and then he was supposedly the "first" on the radio to break the Lane Kiffin story, just ask him he will tell you

I usually don't agree with everything Jimmy says but I will say that I am glad we didn't get Mike Leach, I don't think he would have last very long

What was Tech's recruiting class ranking this year?

I feel much more comfortable going into this season with Kiffin than Leach. I think we will see good things.

You are right about the 104.5 morning team. Howard knows nothing and loves to mouth off about stuff he knows nothing about.

They do have Doug Matthews who has Big Orange Sundays. You should podcast the show. It is a must listen to every week. :thumbsup:

Oh I am very happen with Kiffin....I will admit I was wanting Butch Davis at first but Kiffin became more and more intersting once I heard what kind of staff he could bring in

To answer your question about TT their 09 class was ranked 30th by Scout.com, 30th isn't too shabby for a school like Tech but that would be unacceptable here
