So the Great Jimmy Hyams is back on Monday and Friday mornings on 104.5 The Zone out of Nasvegas....

This morning he really didn't say anything positive about the team.. He slammed the coaching staff by saying we have totally dropped the ball in QB reccruiting.

Mark Howard asked him about Vinson and Rogan's status and he pretty much didn't know they were even in trouble of not making the team.

Then with all his infinite wisdom he says that the D will not finish as high nationally as last year...Well no crap! Does this guy live in a damn cave? He never has anything fresh. Never says anything we don't already know...How does this moron have his own radio show? Mr SEC? LOL

When the Vandy homers in Nashville know more about UT football than you, it is time to give it up....

Anyone else have some good ones on this UT guru?

The sad thing is that Hyams really has the best show in town. So many of the others are just completely unlistenable.

The only thing I really agreed with him on was that the D will drop off a bit in the rankings (duh) and that we waited too long to offer some of the QBs.

Something about the tone of his voice makes me think he really doesn't like UT or possibly the new staff.

I love how he will pronounce someone's name wrong on just about every show. He is just upset because he is out of the loop now. I don't think any coach likes being interviewed with him. They are always giving him short answers haha.

"Tennessee gets a commitment from a WR named Markeith Ables" haha good one Hyman

Tony Barnhardt is good. He is on Wednesdays I think.

I like Doug Matthews too. He gets a bit tounge tied at times, but I like listening to him.

No. They didn't wait too long with the QB's.

Hyams and others want to take the narrow view of THIS YEAR. My read is that the coaches aren't doing that. They are putting as much effort and emphasis on those players as they would deserve in a good year for QB's... which isn't as much as the Chikin Lil's think.

In a typical year for QB's, UT probably doesn't take a second look at most of the guys that have had us all up in arms. CLK just happened to need a QB in a year when the class over all is weak and in particular in the southeast.

1180 am and even the show on 850 am is better than sports talk with john & jimmy. but to each, their own.

Hubbs is on Wed @ 8:30 on 104.5 the zones, and TB with Doug does good too. He was a party pooper this morning though. How can someone not know the basics on the team and still make his living from it?

Doug Matthews is on The Animal but did you know that he owns 1180am(station Tony B is on)? Maybe this is old news but I found it out last week.

When it comes to anything non-ut related, he is decent at best... 99.1 would greatly benefit from letting Will West have a show, or be a co-host on a show...

Tony Basilio is the best sports talk host on Knoxville radio.

Also, Hyams does sound as if he's a little sore that Kiffin was hired... He's said some good things about him, but I can count those on one hand.

I love his show and try to listen whenever I can. I agree, the rest are just crap.

Hey! I am so sick and tired of everyone jumping all over Jimmy. You guys really need to back off....he's been having trouble lately getting information reliably since the continents have segmented into 7 from Pangaea. Give the guy a break, any of us would be in the same boat!

I think he started off the morning by sharing with us all about how Pluto isn't a planet anymore. Glad I know that now.

I'm not sure if it's as much of him hating Kiffin than it is he is so distraught that UT fired his only connection to Knoxville in Fulmer. He is just coming down on this staff because he has no inside track anymore, that and he's also a very bitter lesbian...

that seems to be the standard line by Knoxville media about the D. I'm guessing it was passed to them at a secret Shoney's breakfast meeting

That jackass told me that Marlon Brown was a lock at UT back in January and we see how that worked out

For the foreseeable future, there is going to be a sizeable contingent of the UTK fanbase who believe that replacing Phillip was the downfall of UTK football and there will be a group of "journalists" who are more than happy to make a living by pandering to that group by taking persistent pot shots at the current staff and making slanted comparisons of Fulmer's best seasons versus whatever is happening now.
