Jimmie Kimmel Show gone !

So it seems the real thing that happened here is Kimmel’s comments upset affiliates who then requested he make an apology.

Instead of doing so, he intended on doubling down on his statements and was removed

Honestly if anyone really liked/watched his show, he could do the same dumb show on YouTube. But he knows he will lose money.
You are leaving out the most important part:

The coercive threats made by FCC Chairman Brendan Carr BEFORE ABC announced that Kimmel's show was being suspended.

I'm sorry but Carr is a big part of this story. You can't sweep that under the rug. Without his threats, there is nothing to see here.

Carr is an idiot for his comments and should be fired. With that said, I don’t think he was the root cause here

I disagree .... but only Disney/ABC can clear that up, and they probably won't address it.

As far as the affiliates are concerned, neither Nexstar or Sinclair had announced that they would be pre-empting "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" until AFTER Carr's threats had been made. The right wing has been trying to claim that Sinclair made their announcement beforehand but that isn't true.

The accurate timeline makes it very clear that Carr's threats could have been the driving force behind everything, and because of Nexstar's pending merger, which will require a major policy change from the FCC, those threats carried significant weight.

c'mon man. You can argue whether we should sponsor food programs with taxpayer money, but making the blanket statement that they should all just "move somewhere else" is not entirely feasible for a lot of people.
It’s been a running joke since Sam Kinnison and the eighties. A big part of the problem is that food can’t be grown in the areas that people are living.

It is true that each radio and television licensee is required by law to operate its station in the "public interest, convenience and necessity."

However, Sean Hannity's perspective is defining "public interest" too narrowly. Hannity and Brendan Carr are really just speaking of what is in the best interest of Donald Trump and his agenda. Hannity would be crying "Censorship!" if the roles were reversed.

.... and none of that excuses the threats which Carr made to ABC, prior to ABC indefinitely suspending Jimmy Kimmel's show. He gave ABC an ultimatum to cancel Kimmel's show .... or else he would take punitive action against them. That is authoritarianism, and an infringement on free speech.

I meant the root cause of Kimmel is likely not Carr or Trump.

Agreed though that Carr is doing what Trump wants
No .... the root cause is the threats made by Carr, in conjunction with the pending Nexstar merger. Those threats were probably passed down by Trump. Carr is just a subservient "Yes man."

Once again ..... the timeline isn't what the right wing is claiming. Sinclair didn't make their move until AFTER Carr made his threats.

What comes around goes around .... Ted Cruz was right. This will come back to haunt conservatives one day. There will be another president from the Democratic Party at some point, and Republicans will regret what they have allowed to happen here. There will be some hell to pay,

Cue the "Pepperidge Farm Remembers" memes.

What do you mean “what comes around goes around?” If what you say is true then that’s what’s happening now.

Won't totally disagree.

You should Google the live Letterman interview from the day after Kimmel was axed. No one could provide a more accurate perspective than him and his 30 year first hand experiences of criticizing Presidents. He gave an informed recollection of all Presidents' reactions up until Trump

If he’s saying Trump is more sensitive it’s not worth watching. We are all aware. I would be curious to see clips of letterman actually mocking Obama because I blame the lack of Obama criticism as a major reason for why we got Trump

Ok. SNL used to mock Obama from his speeches' body and facial expressions and his big ears. Obama not only laughed at it but applauded it too. Trump went into the early hours of Sun am hurling off personal insults on social media when it was done to him. Letterman used a "we" perspective of all the late night comics when describing the late night comedic assaults on the President. I'm disappointed you won't even consider a viable alternative viewpoint to your own. Sort of a narrow perspective

Lmfao. What did I not consider?

In my experience over the past 10-15 years, (especially in the past 5 or 7 years), I find that the tan man will do for $15-$20 an hour,,,,,what a black man won't do for $20-$30 an hour,,,,,,and a white man won't do it at all for love nor money.

All three groups (again, in my experience) are sorely lacking the skill and/or motivation of workers from 10-15 years as well.

So, you ask "Who's gonna pick our crops"

let this guy have a go at it, lol

lol I think I already agreed with perspective that you’re trying to call me too narrow minded to consider
You sort of did and it's totally cool you don't care to watch it. It was full of info much more than Trump being a whiny Beta. That part was actually minimal compared to his details on other factors about the recent drop of a couple of late night hosts
