Jimmie Kimmel Show gone !

Hopefully we have versions of Nexstar and Sinclair with CBS and NBC to follow this lead ...

From the article;

ABC suspended Jimmy Kimmel’s late night show not because the network found his lies about Charlie Kirk’s assassin abhorrent, but rather because local stations decided to serve their communities and no longer be bullied by big Hollywood and their left-wing drivel.

As current FCC chairman Brendan Carr explained, broadcasters work under a public interest obligation to their communities, and the affiliates were right to stop broadcasting the show. He said that while enforcement of that obligation has been weak for years, his FCC is looking into enforcement options and that the move from Nexstar and Sinclair is “unprecedented.”

Leamer said that Nexstar’s and Sinclair’s actions are part of a broader effort to reform media ownership rules. Right now, the FCC caps the number of households a single company can reach to 39 percent of the market, meaning none of the companies that own affiliates can compete with national networks like ABC and CBS, or streaming services.

That has made it nearly impossible for more conservative-leaning affiliates like Nexstar and Sinclair to wield enough power to stop the content creation force of Hollywood.

No, he didn't say that Tyler Robinson was MAGA.

Basically, Jimmy Kimmel was (inartfully) accusing MAGA of exploiting Kirk's murder for political gain by associating him with every unfavorable affiliation they could .... except for themselves.

Kimmel said it in such a way, that it's easy to misinterpret.
What do you think about "MAGA"? Is it codeword for Trump / Trump administration, his supporters, an idealogy?

You're right about what he said. But I don't know who or what Kimmel is calling out as MAGA.

There was a time when the jokes were equally distributed. I think Carson did a pretty good job of finding humor in both sides.

But the lefty big government partisans cannot tolerate any 'jabs' at the big left, so they collectively ruined the humor and now it is one sided.
There was a time when Presidents weren't so thin-skinned when being made the butt of jokes.

George W. Bush took an awful lot of crap from the left. No movie has ever targeted an American President for ridicule more than Michael Moore's "Fahrenheit 9/11" did to George W. in 2004. On top of that, you also had the lesser seen Oliver Stone film, "W." which starred Josh Brolin. It skewered Bush in every way possible. However, George W. Bush pretty much ignored it all.

Can you imagine how Trump would react to movies like those being made about him?

Remind me, did President Biden use the threat of the FCC moving ABC's broadcast license to compel Disney to fire Carano?

Whatever happened to Biden’s “ministry of truth”?

He was only labeling speech as “disinformation” and “misinformation” and instructing SM to silence anyone that had a different opinion.

But enough about whataboutism.

Trump should have kept his mouth shut.

That Kirks’s assassin was MAGA.
(But I am betting you already knew that)
Most of America would agree with Kimmel. He was raised that way. His family is. But how does that offend you?

Did you support Kirk on black women lacking mental abilities?

Brian Kilmeade said homeless should be killed, should he not be fired?

He would take advantage of it by ratcheting up his vitriol.
But as I expressed to Huff yesterday, he wants (needs) opportunities to be in the news or media.

Getting a job because of DEI doesn't mean a person wasn't qualified for the job. More often than not before DEI, more qualified people of color were being passed over for less qualified white candidates. It's a fact that was happening.

Not saying it wasn't... But those specific example all proved to not be able to handle the duties they were hired for.... Full stop... And they admitted without dei they wouldn't be where they are... So that tell me they were given the job over a more qualified person which is what Kirk was speaking to regarding their limited abilities.

There is already laws that provide remedy at scale to this issue if it happen(s). These programs were used for discrimination and to bully people into their lifestyles, imo. What all these programs were doing were trying to push acceptance for people's mental illness and to use as a discrimination excuse.

Which member of the Biden cabinet headed the "ministry of truth" and what threats did they level against whom?

I believe Kirk was speaking about very specific women.
If Kilmeade's employer feels he deserves to be fired, then he should. I'm guessing they told him to apologize similar to Kimmel with the difference being that he did instead of saying no.

Carr's comments represent government overreach. What Kimmel said was wrong, but that doesn't excuse Carr's authoritarian threats. The government should have stayed out of this .... but they didn't.
Valid. Can't see a whole of difference between this and FB taking orders to control content from the WH.

The only dagger they have on Kimmel that we saw, is when his diatribe went from opinion to peddling non-factual information. And that was like 2 sentences maybe. I could care less for the guy or his show. I have never watched even 10 seconds of it, but our laws can't go swaying in the wind.

1) since when does parental polical alignment determine that of the child? Are you REALLY going with that? REALLY???
2) Kirk didn’t say that and you know it. He wasn’t talking about black women as a group. He was talking about a handful of black women who are in fact, demonstrable idiots.
3) I am unaware of the exact Kilmeade quote referenced. I will research it before venturing to opine about a matter with which I have no knowledge.

I'm not sure I am clear, "MAGA" can encompass all of those I listed?
it's the new gotcha word. Everyone who doesn't agree with the left are now all "MAGA". I hear it all the time it's almost comical

He was obviously right about the ones he mentioned. They were all affirmative action/dei beneficiaries. If they had been capable they would’ve been picked solely on merit.
