Jimmie Kimmel Show gone !

I guess it depends on whose inference you mean?

I was implying we should hold both to the same standard. I inferred from his comment that only the left should be held to a standard.
Conservatives have been waiting for decades to be held to the same standard in print and TV media as the left. Unfortunately, that has not occurred.

It should have been Disney's decision. Not the FCC chair's decision.
It was Disney’s decision. They were going to let Kimmel stay on if he was willing to apologize and he refused to (at least that is the version I am hearing). If your boss tells you to do something and you refuse to do it; you are subject to disciplinary actions.

I have no idea about what power the FCC has over networks.

The FCC has much more oversight of the over the air broadcasters. The cable networks are pretty well insulated with their programming decisions.

The major networks (ABC, CBS, NBC) are in unique and vulnerable positions as they own over the air broadcasting stations (that need FCC licenses) in the largest cities in the country. Their local affiliates owned by other broadcast groups such as Sinclair, Nexstar, Tegna, and Scripps are highly regulated by the FCC. So the big 3 are also indirectly highly affected by FCC content regulations.

Comcast will be spinning off their cable properties into a new company but will retain their broadcast properties and the 3 letter network (NBC) which is more of a production company and content distributor.

Even the pure cable TV networks have some FCC oversight related to emergency communications but not the same rules imposed on broadcasters relating to content.

Here is my solution; bring back Kimmel but give him a co-host. I recommend Gina Carano. See, everyone gets what they want. And I would pay to watch it.

He would have had to read a statement like The View does on pretty much a weekly basis since they are on the same public airways.

it may be more limited that I initially thought. I did some searching after your post. The key event from recent history where the FCC punished a network was actually appealed and lost. It wasn't appealed and lost on a "no authority" decision however.

It looks like most of the punishments are at the local level...like with Sinclair.

No but he did use the federal government to threaten citizens and military with loss of their jobs if they didn't get the jab it turns out was never really needed.
Cool.

So no, the Biden administration had nothing to do with Disney firing Gina Carano, so trying to equate it to Kimmel's situation would be incorrect.

You were the one who made the correlation to Biden. You opened the door and I walked in.
