Good ole fast talking Jimbo just spent 15 minutes trying to convince Finebaum that coaches have absolutely no say in the NIL situation. Totally outside their control. If anybody believes that, I got a couple of bridges I’d like to talk to you about. Of course he’s trying to defend himself on all the stories of the Aggie NIL budget and what they spent on this recruiting class. And of course, he was playing down the whole situation. Wink, wink.

No way they would get the best recruiting class in the nation without something going on

Three biggest crooks in college football. Saban, Fisher and Smart. The last 2 coached and learned from the master cheat Saban. Come to think of it has Alabama ever been investigated since Saban has been there?

Logic would tell you that the coach has to have some say in it. How would the company/booster/arranger know which recruit to give the money to and how much? I don’t think they are going to do it blindly without somebody calling the shot. Now the contact might not be directly with Jimbo but you can dang sure bet he’s directing the staffer that is in contact with the money guys. The idea of denying it is just ridiculous. They must think we are all idiots.

EtowahVol...goog job. I would only add Coach Pruitt and the fact he worked for Saban, Fisher and Smart. I suspect he learned his recruiting techniques somewhere. I am proud of Dondie Plowman and her refusal to try and coverup Pruitt's behavior.

If you’ve got the means and it isn’t against the rules then why wouldn’t you do it? The pureness integrity of the games whatever you wanna call it died when abc and ESPN robbed Peyton of a Heisman. When the vols get better our deals will get bigger. I doubt people will complain if we have a few top 3 classes because of nil.

Don’t look behind the curtain, keep your head in the sand. These are all students looking for a great education. Sure a little NIL will be gravy when they meet for studying groups and going out for a Burger & fries & Malt. Just like it was in college football infancy. The College experience.

Only problem with Beldar is that he was cheating and wasn’t winning. That’s almost impossible but he pulled it off.

Absolutely correct. I just don’t want coaches blowing smoke that they aren’t involved. Please. Every knows the game now. The NIL Golden Rule- He who has the gold makes the rules.

They only have it for right now

Yup. Check and see how many of them are still left in a year.

My understanding of the NIL thing is that it cannot be tied to play or even specifically to a school in that a company cannot dictate where a signee attends school.

Would be comical if all of Jimbo's recruits left and then sued A&M for no longer paying them. Make no mistake, whether it's A&M or someone else that is the next step.

A year in Bryan/College Station and those guys should be ready to get out. Not exactly the most exciting place on the planet.

And then we go and hire his only assistant that was apparently not smart enough to learn from the master.
