Clown went off on Manning as to why hasn't he announced his retirement yet. Rome said "you just won a Super Bowl championship that you had absolutely nothing to do with".

Clown,
1) didn't Denver have to win their last ref season game to secure home field fir playoffs? Anyone think Denver wins at Pitt or at NE in the playoffs? Who entered at halftime to revive Denvers offense?
2) Didn't Denver have to win vs Pitt to make SB? Didn't Manning complete key passes on the drive that won the game?
3) Didnt Denver have to beat NE? Didn't Manning have 2 TD passes to Daniel and outplay Brady?

Manning didn't have to play a dominant game vs Char. He just had to not lose it. Does Rome ready believe Den wins the SB with Osweiler at Qb? Gosh I would hope he's not that stupid.

Jim Rome is correct, and you proved his point. Your other points have nothing to do with the Super Bowl game itself. Now if he would of said that Manning didn't play a part in Denver getting to the Super Bowl, then Rome would be an idiot.

You might want to check that again, Osweiler did very well as the starter....threw for nearly 2,000 yards and a 87 QBR in only 8 games.............no doubt Denver would have still won with Osweiler at QB.

I heard him earlier, something like -

"Pops get off the field, nobody wants to see you bouncing around"
"should be ashamed for dragging your retirement out this long"

Most feel PM has reached the point but Rome is just like some kids here,
reaches for attention by being as big a pr*ck as possible when speaking.

Edit: Should have added that you will probably get some of those kids here. Nobody slams a "has been" more than a never was.

Obviously you aren't an orange bleeding VFL. Peyton is Johnny Unitas + Ted Williams + Bobby Orr x Jesus. Go root for Vandy.

They were losing the final game of the season at home to the Chargers when Kubiak pulled Osweiler for Manning after Osweiler was ineffective and, in fact, hurting the team with turnovers. Had they not won that game, they would've dropped to a 5th seed and very likely never even been in the SuperBowl to begin with. Different point I know, but still worth considering IMO.

And, while it's true, all things being equal, that the Broncos likely win the SuperBowl with Osweiler as QB as well given the play of their defense, it's all just an academic exercise. No way to really know. Ultimately, the uncalled for disrespect that a loser like Rome (think his interview with Jim Everett) is throwing at an all-time great is dispicable IMO.

The thread title is redundant. I swear all he does is watch ESPN and come up with comments on other people's stories without any fact checking.

Why would he stage something that made him look like a weak arse pu**y? Perhaps he did, but it surely didn't help his image/career at the time. Everett could've done us all a favor and thrown hands at the diminutive punk when he had him on the floor wetting his leg.

Hard to say that without doubt. They did pull Otsweiler for Peyton.

I don't know if that's entirely true. Brock was getting worse and worse prior to a really good game against a really bad Bears team that moved the curve on his stats.

They went back to Manning because towards the end, defenses were keying in on Osweiler and his inability to read defenses.

I'm not so sure Osweiler would have even scored the first TD that Peyton did against the Panthers.

I live in Denver and many of the local media is stating to let Brock walk. Get a QB in FA or the draft. One name being thrown around is Dak Prescott in the mid rounds. Brock was great during 2 consecutive quarters, then was figured out really quick. Pittsburgh had the worst pass defense in the league and was able to have much success in the regular season meeting!

Even Peyton is scratching his head.

I could have scored the first TD against the Panthers.
