Of course. Look at all the posts on here after the S Carolina and North Texas games.

I think you can always take negatives from a win. That is how you improve. However, I don't know about any of you all, but I get sick of looking at this guy. It may be because he is the coach of the gators and I am a gator hater, but I don't like this guy. And, that speech he gave after the Florida loss was embarrassing.

Urban Meyer was miserable to be around...that guy had the personality of a cardboard box, but he won championships.

I'm guessing hanging out with Saban is no walk in the park either.

I get you're not supposed to like our coach regardless of the circumstances, but McElwain's personality is pretty laid back, and he doesn't go the coachspeak route like some other coaches folks post about around here.

It was over the top, but does it make it untrue? I bet his team comes out against the criminoles with a fire unseen so far this season.

UF coach Jim McElwain frustrated by Gators' lack of energy - Orlando Sentinel

There has been a ton of discussion on here about our moral victories and conversely moral losses.

My opinion is that if you can take positives from a loss, you can take negatives from a win. Many have agreed, many have not.

Apparently, Jim McElwain agrees.

Usually called "Teachable Moments".
His team was in the same mode as Tennessee was last week vs North Texas and he called them on it. The way he should have.

Saban got in front of it last week with his team and you seen the result That's a big time coach nipping it in the bud before it becomes an issue. JMO

They won't beat FSU though. UF's offense has regressed back to Muschamp level.

A lot of successful coaches are/were. Saban, Meyer, Harbaugh seems kinda d-bagish, plus Bear Bryant could probably be a jerk and Woody Hayes punched players.

Just because a coach does or doesn't come right out and say something in a presser doesn't mean it isn't said to the team when there aren't cameras.

In the offseason, there were several posters complaining about CBJ being too hard and harsh on the team in practices. Those same posters were complaining about CBJ not publicly ripping the team after SCar and North Texas.

Coach Mac is a laid back coach during the pressers. He lit into Kelvin Taylor during a game, but that's a different story. He calls it how he sees it. If he sees an ugly win, he'll call it just that. He gives props to his opponents when due and lets others know that his team is a work in progress. I've definitely seen worse coaches with their 100% coach speak. Don't get me wrong, Mac still had some coach speak in him, but he's definitely doing a better job with the media than our previous coach.

Hang out in the basketball forum this season, every game has been "negative".

I have. Our team is young, lacking depth, and has had 3 coaches in many years. Anyone expecting this to even remotely resemble a NCAA tourney team is delusional. We would be doing pretty well to make the NIT this year with the team we have.

Oh I'll give you he doesn't go the "coach speak" route. Just check the dead fish aisle if you think I'm joking.

I would say the difference between their game vs FAU and ours vs N Texas is they almost lost. Our game was never in doubt.

We just didn't dominate the way we're expected to. I'm sure Butch addressed the team about the negatives in performance. No real reason to do it at a presser.

Whoever said you can't take negatives from a win? You can take negatives from a NC game if you look hard enough. The point is the dolts on here take negatives from every single thing that CBJ does.
