Yea he's complaining about fan apathy for basketball even though the place had over 15,000 on a Tues. against UTM.

I don't agree with what he said about basketball fans. The only reason that there seems to be so much more interest in football right now is because of what's going on, but there still would be more interest in football right now, especially if we had a good team and were looking at a SEC and/or BCS bowl. We still love basketball and BP, and just because the attendance was a little off last night doesn't mean anything.

Not sure about his recruiting ability, but I will say he is top 10 coaches in the nation. IMO

I wouldn't be mad at him coming to UT

This guy "GRIFF" is an absolute idiot. He doesn't think Leach would fit in at UT because he's unconventional and the job is "regal." What an absurd comment: Yea, give us another boring moron who for 10 years (!) says nothing other than "we'll have to look at film" and "work like heck" blah, blah. Are you kidding? Leach would be a breath of fresh air. He also asserts that enthusiasm for the hoop team has dimmed based on no sellout in the first game against a div. ii school. Again, the guy is clueless: Most hoop fans are not quite ready for basketball--the season started earlier than usual this year, football is still going on, league play hasn't started, it's a long season. A lof games have featured somewhat quiet crowds. No wonder he likes Fulmer--not very sharp.

This guy doesn't know anything.
A one sentence paragraph about his sources incite.
Then spends the whole page flip flopping over the whole coaching spectrum.

You get better guess work here in the nation!:)

I'm not sure about Leavitt. He might be great but..... He did build USF but its location is prime for building a good team. The Tampa area has Clearwater Beach and Ybor City down the street. It shouldn't be a tough sell and there is plenty of talent left over in Florida even after the Gators, Seminoles and Hurricanes get their players. Also, they play in the Bucs stadium so they can draw a big crowd. I still don't know why they are called South Florida and located in Tampa but I can see why players would go there.
