we've lost 2 games this year and still have a mathematical shot at an East title, why are people wanting to fire the coach?

I feel like in the last 5 years or so there have been a new "breed" of UT fans -- fans that only care about TODAY, and don't really care about yesterday as much. Impatient fans, instead of the fans who always think in the most positive terms.

I don't know if it's because of the internet or if it's just that "kids" have an actual voice now because of internet/media information and access to it. I don't know know why things have changed, but it's almost like we're becoming west coast fans to some degree.

It's not that i'm for or against firing Fulmer, I just don't know...we have only played 1/3 of the season.

I don't know how reliable it is, but I heard that after the renovations to the stadium are complete, the field will be renamed Pilot Field.

I'm not in favor of making a change because of the first four games of this season; I'm in favor of making a change because of the last five years.

I thought Coach Fulmer deserved a chance to right the ship after 2005. He simply hasn't been able to do it.

I care about yesterday. I care about the yesterday we lost to Florida 59-20. I care about the yesterday we got whipped by Cal. I care about approximately 3,000 yesterdays we have went without winning an SEC championship or BCS bowl game. It's about all those yesterdays, and the direction of the program.

Why would youthinks his donation would have anything to do with that?

Haslem has enough clout with the school that he doesn't need to buy any. I doubt UT would so blatantly sell the coaches chair. And I hope that anyone generous enough to give $10 million to a public education institution would not be so petty as to tie it to who is coaching the football team.

Haven't spent much time around truly rich people, have you?

Seven digits = you pretty much tell the recipient what you want them to do.

Eight digits = they do it, or they're next.

Vandy has a mathematical shot at the East title too. If you're okay with "mathematical shots", that right there is a sure sign of how much your expectations of UT football have slipped.

We do care about yesterday. Yesterday is, apparently, where the coaching staff is stuck.

When a head coach talks about earning "equity" in a program, as CPF did after the 2005 debacle, that's a pretty good indicator that (a) he knows he has failed to meet expectations, and (b) he's starting to get desperate to save his job.

Randy Sanders was a martyr.

Who will fall beneath the axe after '07?

Time for change.

After seeing many starving people all over the world, I would think that money would be better spent elsewhere. No offense to UT, but people are dying out there. However, I do commend his generosity...

Haslam and Fulmer are close friends. He ain't going anywhere.
Yes they are. And we have to remember that Haslam was supposedly one of the heavy hitters who got rid of Majors so Fulmer could get the job. Unless we go 5-7 or something like that I doubt that he will get on board with those of us who want a change.

The 32.5 Mil is from Jim Jr and Natalie Haslam.

The 10 Mil is from Jimmy (Jim III) and Dee Haslam.
What!!!! You mean the Haslams have that much money? They should just take over the AD and find us a coach.:eek:hmy:

Pilot Corp., and Pilot Travel Centers, LLC are both incredibly large companies that pull in a lot of money. Not to mention Dee Haslam (Jim III's wife) is the CEO of RIVR Media.

But yes. They have a lot of money.
