Perhaps some extra money could sway him away from the west coast. Think about it, he's young, filled with fire and a desire to win. He's putting Stanford back on the map as it is. I cant believe no one has even mentioned his name! If not Harbaugh then I would definately be in favor of pursuing Chris Petersen, he's young, gutsy and a proven winner. Which are also great qualities in a HC!

Didn't he turn down the Notre Dame job? Why would he come here if he doesn't want that one?

$5 and a handshake will get him away from stanford. of course he's basically kiffin #2 if you are ok with that. no chance in hell he turned down the ND job. zero

Im not sure if he was even offered the ND job. I know his name was mentioned as a possible candidate, but i dont believe he was ever offered.

No to Chris Petersen, MAYBE to Jim Harbaugh. I'm just glad I'm not Mike Hamilton right now because I do not see a clear solution to this.

I wouldn't have a problem with Harbaugh, but coming in I'd expect him to be gone within 4-5 years easy... regardless of success.

I think he aspires to coach in the NFL like his brother.

By far my personal choice outside of the pipe dreams.

I posted this in a previous thread about Harbaugh but here it is again. There a lot of Michigan boosters who want him as the Wolverines hc when RR gets the ax. RR has angered many Meatchicken boosters and it will take a miracle for him to keep his job. He discontinued giving a Sr. Wr the #1 Jersey (big tradition), refused to do the weekly coaches show and high school camps, and just overall gives a big fu to the BIG boosters. If Harbaugh came here we could be in the same spot next year!!!!!!!!

Harbaugh has moxy, and don't stur the pot like Kiffin did. He won't back down from a fight, but he won't start it either.

harbaugh wont stir the put like kiffin? are you serious?

Harbaugh has a saucy demeanor... I like it. Kiffin just came across as a kid that would run his mouth towards anyone knowing that they wouldn't do anything because his dad was the Police Chief.

Yeah, so he can up and leave us for Michigan next year when Rich Rod gets fired and we're hiring our 4th coach in 4 years? No thanks.

I have been very impressed with what Harbaugh has been doing. With the names out there he would be my favorite choice

If this guy is in play and we hire someone like Calhoun instead, Hamilton should be gone immediately...

Harbough would be a great hire. The problem is that we can't count on anybody staying for a lengthy period unless we hire a less than dynamic UT grad. Nobody is loyal to anybody anymore. Every coach in college football seems to have one eye on his next job all the time--nature of the beast. There aren't that many jobs out there better than UT, but there are easier jobs--michigan (easier), usc (easier), florida state (easier)--given the meat-grinder nature of the SEC.

Arguably is the key word here. I am surprised not to see the Coast Guard academy on their schedule. The toughest thing about ND is dealing with their alumni.

I would like to see CPF replace hamilton, $800,000 for one year contract termination? c'mon man. I like Harbough but again, we need someone who embraces our UT tradition for the time their here and not someone just looking to use us as a step ladder.
