I thought this was the best game called by him all season long. I was pleasantly surprised by how we came out stinging the ball. I feel like with Bray in there he feels comfortable opening up the playbook more.
Chaney has had good plans all year. He knows what he is doing and all the idiots that blamed him for young players having poor execution are going to be the same one calling him a great coordinator the next 3 years.

any news on Couch today ??
I actually didn't like his gameplan very much at all. I'm not sure if he is going absolutely KISS with Bray right now, but if Ole Miss had been just ordinary today, the gameplan would have had us all in pucker mode before halftime. It was the fact that he never put Bray in another gear / mode when it looked crucial. We stayed in the fun-n-gun all game, even when Ole Miss almost made a game of it going into halftime.
The kids responded really, really well, but on another day, this gameplan would have gotten us into trouble. It won't beat KY.

Yes because in the first half ole muss wasn't playing man to man and stacking a box at all. You expect to run at that? And it definitely didn't set up run in 2nd half when he forced ole miss to go primarily zone and rush 4. But seeing your previous posts, I'm surprised you didn't know this already.

I'm not sure where the disconnects have come from. No one is suggesting three yards and a cloud of dust type gameplan. But Chaney's play-calling in the first half really puzzled me. He called what was the worst offensive series in living TN memory in the first half after a great special teams play.
It turns out today, Ole Miss had no desire to come to Knoxville. On a different day, I guarantee you, his play-calling in the first half gets us into trouble.

Thank you. It is amazing how much guys making plays makes the coach look like a genius.
That first play call was awesome. How did Chaney design the bounce so well that Hunter was able to catch the ball in stride and go 80 yards for the touchdown?
I agree. The scheme hasn't changes. The ability of the players has.
Any other gameplan and we don't put up points. That's kind of an important component of winning football games.

Ole Miss was kind enough to give us half of our points.
Maybe "gameplan" is the wrong word. Chaney's "game awareness" frightens me so far.
Let's hope we don't have a "I forgot we had Tauren Poole" moment if KY converts on a couple of bad Bray decisions that Ole Miss couldn't convert today....
