JG is the starter against Bama (merged)

EXACTLY!!

You are the first person to mention that❤.

He is one of the best DCs in America and he thinks JG can win games???

So this guy in intentionally screwing things up passive-aggressively...
How do you figure he is one of the best DCs in the country. It would appear at the very least he can’t teach players to stop something as simple as the slant route

It sucks but you can’t put Bailey out there for his first game with so few practice reps against Bama. Just gonna have to take our licks for this game. It’s not worth ruining the kid in his first game when he’s not had the reps to get prepared. It SUCKS to say that, but Shrout isn’t the answer and I don’t know what’s up the Mauer. Let’s just hope we get a miracle and JG plays the game of his life. Probably not I know....

We don't know if Shrout is the answer or not, he not had very much playing time at all. In the games he was in he looked good some and bad some, but shows much more potential than jg. And jg has looked good a few times but mostly bad.

I cannot beleive that Pruitt wants to keep his job if he trots #2 out there Saturday... seems like self sabotage... the only thing that makes sense is starting 15 and getting Bailey in for a few series... then continue that model until Bailey surpasses 15 later this year... that's the only workable dolution...

Yikes. Shots fired. Truth hurts though. Haven’t stopped one all year. Not. One.

I was listening to part of an interview with Pruitt on the Finebaugh show today. From listening to him, you would think we lost by just a few points.

Seems what CJP is angling at if he continues with JG

JG did almost beat bama at bama last year, just saying

He absolutely did not almost beat bama. Maurer scored the only touchdown. JG changed the play on his own at the 1 yard line and proceeded to fumble resulting in a 100+ yard return for an Alabama touchdown. JG single-handedly put the game out of reach.

I love HT, but he needs not to be doing that ****. Period.

I kinda agree with you here. Stuff like that, especially from a leader, can create quite a divide in the locker room. I get HT has his wishes, but talking to CJP behind closed doors would be a more effective route imo.

Exactly.

If Ole Miss ran up over 600yards of offense against Bama how are they "wolves". They are very good but more on offense then defense. It's not impossible to start Baily against Bama but it takes a game plan and it appears we don't have much coaching to do that. I do remember Kiffin having a game plan with Crompton that kept us in the game against Bama.

100% right on. We can't do it with jg, but we at least have a chance with any of the others, at least they can throw down field. Bama's defense is not that good this year, I would say not near as good as Ga, and probably not better than ky. Put someone in there that has a chance to put up some points. Bama will score at least 40 plus points. I sure hope pruitt don't just go in and try to slow the game by run run and then pass just to take time off the clock. Kiffin had the right idea, score score score, yes they got beat, but we should have much better talent than ole miss. Trotting jg out there is just giving up on this game. I think as a coach you should have your team believing they have a chance to win every game. Execute your game plan, and have a plan with the idea of winning. I hope Pruitt is just saying this about jg so bama prepares for him; but if he is totally telling the truth that jg is the starter Sat. and also going forward. It could cost him his job, not this year, but because he is losing valuable game experience, and setting them back by one year, actually he will have set us back 2 years by not totally replacing him last year. And working with a qb that has much more potential than jg has shown in the game. I could care less about how they look in practice if they can't bring it to the game.

Our two defensive stands against Ga. in which we kept them from getting a first down, and then from scoring, both on 4th down, were probably the plays of the year so far.

So how did Pruitt fire the guy who was coaching those guys, but keeps a QB, gama after game, who has proven he is not SEC caliber? And how does he keep an OC who calls plays as if he has Peyton Manning throwing the fade pattern, when the QB he has only "fades" on the fade pattern?

Our offensive play calling is boring, and is very predictable.

I do not know of a coach in the country who would still be playing JG. Guess that tells us that Pruitt's bull-headedness is through and through.
