JG deserves respect ( for this game)

Not even close. I could name Peterman, Stephens, and Matt Simms just in last 10 years. He may be the worst in comparison to his HS ranking but Crompton probably still has him beat for that.

He’s 9-18 as a starter. I don’t think either of those guys match those terrible results. I don’t remember but did they start as many games as JG?

I give points for the total amount of time the dumpster burns.

You call 13/24 for 162 a rebound? That is any other SEC quarterbacks first half stats.. it’s long past time for him to be riding pine. I’m baffled that people don’t understand Jim’s got like 20 plays or less he can call because of JG’s abilities or lack thereof.
Give kid respect, did what he was asked, no one can imagine the heat he has taken from middle aged loser arm chair qbs. He is what he is, but can’t blame getting boat raced on him.... easy to crap on him, but I’m here to say he played well today...sorry it hurts you that deficiencies are much deeper than starting qb

Bama is just flat out better than us in all phases of the game. JG was fine, honestly just taking care of the ball is all he needs to do, but it's clear the the coaches don't trust him to throw it given how many times we ran the ball on third and long. Defense needs to tackle better and force more turnovers. Thompson dropped two INT's that would've taken 14 points off the board.

Edit: also if the offensive could stop giving the other team points every week, we might do better.

Lmao.

QBs wins aren't a stat. If you are counting wins he had 8 just last year.

Peterman May have statistically had the worst performance in college football history. Crompton had a game at Auburn that had 8 consecutive 3 and outs. I would definitely agree that JG has been bad for a longer period of time. I wish he had transferred after Pruitts first year

No QB in UT history has had more opportunities than JG given the mediocre to bad performances he has had. He is not good enough to win consistently in the SEC, period.
Time to move on.
Maurer or HB need an opportunity now..........,.

Peterman didn’t get near as many opportunities as JG while here at UT.
He did pretty well at Pitt.
Good enough to get in the NFL.

I understand that. The quote was that JG was the worst QB in school history and that’s not statistically true. Had nothing to do with what happened at Pitt.

Your quote was “college football history”. Did not say UT.

The previous poster said school history. I said it was possible that Peterman had the worst start in NCAA history. Completed 2 passes for 5 yards and two interceptions. I’m not entirely sure but I think at the time it was the lowest QBR ever in a game. Yes I’m aware it was only one game, and I’ve already stipulated JG has been terrible for longer.

It shocked me that he is still in the NFL when I researched him minutes ago.
More power to him. I hope the young man stays long enough to get his NFL pension.......

Even though the D sucked we could’ve at least tried to score to keep up. Ole Miss has a terrible D but they still attempted to call and make plays to win.

Exactly!
I'm not saying we should hire Kiffin, but our game preparedness was not even close to being as good as his was against Alabama.
Also, Kiffin had his players excited and believing they could beat Alabama, our players from the start just wanted to get the game over.
According to recruiting rankings we have better players than Ole Ms, but I would bet they would beat us this year.

But he absolutely does nothing to erase a huge deficiency we have.. the QB position

JG was reason UK ended the losing streak in Neyland and people gonna legit talk about him like he is anywhere close to the ranks of Peyton, Tee, Shuler, Clausen, and others.....

I bet JG hears this and just sits there like 1603588963773.gif

Game plan was conservative as hell, but he did what was asked. Rebounded from last week. Maybe the last time we see him, but he is as tough nails. VFL, and I tip my cap. Boys and girls it’s HB TIME!
ITS conservative because he sucks... Its not a gameplan to win against Bama.... We coached to not get embarrassed instead of try to win the game... Weak mentality
