JG deserves our respect for this

I'm going to start by saying I don't think JG has or had Heisman level talent, but he had the talent to be better than he performed while here at UT...his short tenure at Washington St proved that to be true.

I firmly believe that almost the entire coaching staff under Pruitt was cancerous, micro-manged, and did not develop any of the talent at their disposal.

I sometimes wonder how JG might have done had he access to good coaching like Halzle, Golesh, and Heupel.

We rooted for JG. He is a VFL. His play wasnt good or even average. Not all of it was his fault, he had really bad coaching, really bad.
Never said he wasn't a VFL. In fact I put him pretty high up on my favorites list if he's the reason we don't have Pruitt anymore which I've always suspected he was.

meh, I just would rather not hear his name again.
Whose name?

Jarrett Guarantano?

Jarrett Guarantano definitely gave his all in a no win situation. The coaches tell him to play while many "fans" openly hated on him.

Jarrett Guarantano deserves far more respect than those who bad mouth him every chance they get

Im happy to see that Jarrett Guarantano is still a VFL after the treatment he got here amd receives here to thsi day.

More fans should be like Jarrett Guarantano.

Any player that graduate’s from UT is a VFL. But his tenure at Washington State where he just played in 2 games proved little.

Dude was not the player we all wanted him to be. But he took a beating behind the lines. He never lashed out publicly. He carried himself with character.

I wish we, as fans, could separate the player and the unfortunate circumstances in our program he endured from JG the man.

When JG called his own goal line play, and seemingly ignored the call from the sideline, it spoke volumes about the disrespect between he and the coach. Who knows how many other players felt that way about JP?

Perhaps that sentiment was fully justified, but it was the moment that nearly lost me as a fan.

He lost me in the 2020 Kentucky game

The difference between you and him.....he sacrificed his body and his future for the University of Tennessee.....what have you sacrificed for Tennessee?

At the absolute most...donate a few bucks and bitch about 18 - 22 year old young men you've never met?

Piss off....I hear Bama is looking for more fans just like you....leave your Orange beside the door on your way out.

As there is no documented evidence of shenanigans involving JGs dad or any untoward actions, I will keep them in the bucket of hearsay and continue to wish JG a happy and productive future whatever he does. At least he didn’t transfer to a hated rival like Henry T. He has never badmouthed the program or the fans as far as I know. Let him be

Very well stated. I was critical of his play, as many were, and I own it. However, as you stated, he carried himself with character. I can't take back the comments I made, but I can give him credit for being above our criticism. He IS a VFL.
