Second round coming today, and only two QB's have been chosen. Was watching NFL Network this morning to see where they had Crompton rated. Mayock had Crompton rated 9th best available, and then right behind him was Jevan Snead at 10.

Did he just get some bad advice or what? Amazing. Why leave Ole Miss to basically sign as a free agent on an NFL roster. And that is a maybe...What have you all heard was the reason he split?

He is either stupid or he was failing his classes. Either way, I think he made the wrong move. I do not know the real reason for his actions though. The season he just had was not the kind that guarantees you a roster spot in the NFL.

He must be stupid to give up all of those hotties at Ole Miss being a senior qb for the football team.

One of the things I read (forgot where) said that QB's probably benefit the most by staying for their senior year.

Another reason you can't believe what guys like kiper and mcshay think. They have noclue what they are talking about.

Snead blows, and has a Lloyd Christmas haircut.

I must have missed the part where anyone gave a crap about Snead in their draft projections...

One of the things I read (forgot where) said that QB's probably benefit the most by staying for their senior year.

I think Snead could have played seven years of college ball and it wouldn't have mattered. He's just not that good. I look at it this way: Mack Brown loves quarterbacks with a big arm and athleticism, always has. Snead has more of both than Colt McCoy, yet Brown still chose McCoy as his quarterback. The only times Snead got meaningful playing time was when McCoy was hurt. He played well, but Brown still went back to McCoy as soon as he could. The same coach who used to happily play Chris Simms and his rockhead interceptions wanted no part of Snead. That spoke volumes to me.

Quarterback is just like any other position when it comes to being ready for the NFL. There are QBs who would benefit from playing all four years, and some that are ready sooner, and some that aren't.

Peyton Manning could have come out after his sophomore year at UT and he would have done just fine. Dan Marino could have left Pitt (if it had been allowed then) after his second season and done just fine. Heath Shuler could have benefitted from his senior year that he passed up, plus he would have avoided being drafted into a toxic situation in Washington.
