Jesse Palmer predicts that UT will contend for SEC East title in 2015

Looks to be a four team race. FL is a major ? Geo looks to be front runner but Richt has choke potential. Mizzou is so well coached you have to consider them. I think we finish no worse than tied for second (barring another year of catastrophic injuries).

If they stay healthy and if the offensive line can even be average they can win the east.

CountVocula hasn't posted in here?

Palmer is a UF homer....really didn't call the UF-UT game objectively as some have stated. Our boys played poorly, but he and his sidekick that day didn't help the effort one bit....as far as being objective during the game.

Too soon to worry about titles IMO.

Just get to 8-9 wins and get the awful O line situation straightened out along with tangible development at QB and WR and that'll be a nice start for earning the raises.

ok let see what ten has for next year.
qb not the best but good enough.
rb will have 2 good rbs plus good back ups.
wr have 4 good ones north, von person, malone and josh smith plus good back ups.
te good but no Jason whitten.
ol will be lots better but needs improvement.
defense should be one of the better defenses in the sec if not the nation if the secondary holds up.
now some one tell me why we shouldn't contend for the sec east next year.

This guy is quickly becoming one of my favorites on ESPN. Never thought I could like a Gator, but the guy knows football and he is objective in his assessments. :hi:

He's like Herbstreit. He isn't biased to his alma mater. Herby does say some odd things at times but he overall is a good analyst. Also like Greg McElroy as an analyst.

As much as I hope we are contending for SEC E title, I have a real hard time realistically expecting more than 7-5. What makes anyone think that our oline/qb is going to be that much better? Our oline was literally the worst I've personally witnessed by any team, college, pro, or highschool. That opinion is based on competition. Meaning that I've never seen a team's oline get that destroyed week in/week out for an entire season. Secondly, I just don't think Dobbs is near as good as everyone else seems to. Don't get me wrong it was definitely a breath of fresh air for our team, and a definite upgrade over Worley (IMO only because our oline was so bad, as Dobbs game synergies slightly better with a **** oline). So basically i think Dobbs is a C quarterback, and sense that's the most important position on the field....I just don't see us being that good

sorry, just still not a big fan of Rosie...I mean Jessie Palmer.

I just can't deal with anything from fla or ala. Maybe if we ever start beating them some I'll lighten up.

Did you watch that game? We were clearly the better team, but we screwed up in just about every way possible. False starts on short distance plays. Dropped passes, mainly the one by Malone. Settling for field goals. And the Worley turnovers. We were up, but we should have been killing them. He knew that and his comments reflected it

Careful, you may get flamed for suggesting the florida loss wasn't lost solely by the coaches!

McElroy is great. Don't mind Palmer but man he never stops talking. I don't think he likes Pollack ib the booth with him because he never lets him get much in.

Herby can stick his tongue out and touch the south end of Urban Meyer's large intestine. From what I've seen of him on any broadcast where the Ohio State team / game is being discussed, he's a total Buckeye homer. Aside from that, yes...Herby is a decent analyst.

Go Vols.

I like him a lot, but he's a huge OSU homer. He doesn't even try to hide it either. When OSU made the playoffs, I thought Herb was going to have to stop his current job so he could start making ads for Viagra :gone:

I wouldn't either. Pollack is horrible as an announcer and completely biased as a commentator/anchor. Palmer is pretty decent. Better than Verne by a mile and Palmer actually went to Florida.

Pollack is pretty useless and not sure why he has a job outside of Athens

Clearly no one heard him during the Florida game. Tennessee could do nothing right in his eyes, even when we were up. Then florida would get a first down. And he made comments like they had just won the entire thing. I don't care for Jesse Palmer or anything he has to say

not trying to jump on you..but my god man..did you watch that game?...everything he said was spot on..even when we were up..we played like ****..we played like ****..we played like ****.

David Green on his Atlanta radio show said the same thing tonight. He said the east will be between UGA and UT next year.

Would remind that Dobbs came in near end of season x2, against stiff competition, and would suggest he's a B+ or greater qb this year playing behind a previously-inexperienced line that may have challenged OC's play-calling / but all of which did about as good as they could overall -- Looking Up !

This Big Orange love fest has to be great for recruiting. It's exactly what Jones has been selling.

We may go 7-5, but this hype will help fill the stable this year. We need two more big time classes to complete with the SEC elite imo.
