Jerry's latest bracketology has Tennessee in........comfortably as a 9 seed. Bamers first 4 out.

LSU as 9
Arky as 5
UK as 1
UGA as 10

I have to say I look at the bracketology b/c I thought we may be mentioned on the bubble after last night's win.

I also have to say I was a little surprised to see us all the way up to a 9 seed. This is the first sign I see of a shift in the national media respecting what coach Tyndall is doing here.

Not to mention 5 SEC teams, which doesn't even include Florida which we all know can make a run and get in.

Good to see. Hadnt seen that predication yet.

I was looking at the Bracket Matrix and was surprised to see UT not even on the list. I think the Bama game hurt more than I first thought, but hopefully people look at the Arky game and see how impressive it was actually was.

The next two games will be unbelievably important. If they win those then they should be at least mentioned on some of these lists. Road games, no matter who it is, are hard to get and make/break bubble teams. Cant lose to bad teams like Mizzou and need big wins away from home.

Mizzou will be tough at their place. Plus, they will be fired up after their last game.

Absolutely on the Mizzou game. It would be a nice win b/c its on the road and in conference, but it would be an even worse loss.

The other interesting thing about Palm's bracket is the first 4 out consisted of not only Bama, but NC State, Ohio State, and Syracuse.

I think we all can with our orange colored glasses see that Donnie is doing a great job, but also when you look at our season in the context of college basketball against other programs, it looks even better.

GBO.

3 road wins. 4-1 in SEC. 12-5 overall record. RPI in the 40's. I'm quite certain we will be all the brackets if we win the next 2.

Staying there is a different story.

Not ready to buy that yet. Still a whole bunch of land mines to dodge the rest of the way, and not many opportunities for quality wins to make up for it should we stumble.

Bracketology is worthless at this point. You can jump from a team that's not even on the bubble to a 9 seed back to a team that's not even on the bubble in the span of two games.

Just to have Tennessee's name mentioned in the NCAA discussion at this point is a testament to what Tyndall has accomplished so far.

Right now the only "bad" loss based on RPI on UT's resume is the loss to Marquette. They are at 116 and are 9-6. The loss to Bama was bad in the fashion that it happened, but Bama's RPI is still 44. UT has two quality wins against Butler and Ark.

I'm a bit of a Lunardi hater, but wow, that bracket is god awful.

Michigan State and Alabama are pretty much identical resume-wise at this point, but one of them is an 8 seed and the other isn't even listed anywhere.

Lunardi came out with one today and doesn't even have UT as 1 of the first 8 out, much less in the tournament. SMH.
Lunardi is a joke. Last year he didn't have Tennessee in any of his brackets, and when they DID get in the play in game, he had Iowa beating us. The guy knows numbers, not basketball. JMO TIFWIW

Lunardi reminds me of certain software companies. Just cobble some usual crap together, put it out as a "finished" product, let your consumers do the leg work and find all your glaring mistakes, and then sit back and rake in the cash while your marketing team works on improving your brand.

Then put out a new version every year so you're already obsolete when you buy it.

Give or take...what is the final record most of you think will see the Vols safely in the tournament? Possibly 20-10 and 12-6 in conference regular season?

Any combination of 20 wins because of SOS. Someone posted this from some source. Two years ago we had 20 wins, 20-12 with a tourney win, and did not get in. It will be tough to do.
