I don't care which bowl we go to.

Just WIN our last 2 games and then WIN our bowl game.

I would hope and pray that getting on a WIN streak like that would help our recruiting and bring in some quality, high profile players to add to our roster.

We need the Jimmies and Joes to keep our rebuilding going strong.

VFL...GBO!!!

And the payouts are somewhat irrelevant as the money is pooled for the SEC (minus school expenses) and divided up as revenue sharing.
True to an extent. Participating school still gets expenses and an additional cut off the payout though.

If this team somehow manages to accomplish 8-5, I'd rank it right up there with the Sugar Vols and that miraculous turn around in '88. Simply an amazing season when you consider the outlook after a 1-4 start. Hell, a winning season seemed an impossibility after the UGA game.

I am selfishly rooting for the Music City Bowl because that is the only game I will be able to attend. I will be leaving the next day on the 31st to attend the Winter Classic in Dallas. I would be thrilled if I could go to both of those games. Fingers crossed.

and cold -- I think it would be Minnesota though -- its always a Big 10 team -- plus a freakin Monday afternoon - I'm not seeing how they have 1st dibs over the Belk Bowl

It’s not always a Big 10 tie in. The Music City Bowl’s contract is set up so that - over a 6 year period - it has to invite 3 Big 10 teams and 3 ACC teams(/Notre Dame).

Since this was put in place at the start of this period, the Music City Bowl has taken Notre Dame, Louisville, Nebraska, Northwestern, and Purdue. It’s had invited 3 Big 10 team requirement for this period but only 2 ACC (/Notre Dame) teams, so this year has to be an vs SEC vs ACC matchup.

I care about the 5-3 SEC record more than the 7-5. However, I'm a little worried about Missouri... hopefully I'm wrong.

Harry Palm knows bowl games among other things. If anyone can beat the spread on these bowl projections, it's him.

Music City Bowl sucks, but it’s better than the Liberty bowl, or no bowl at all
After last year and how this year started I would be happy with either one this year. Now next year it would be disappointing to go to either one of these bowls!!!!

Important to remember that under the current bowl structure, the Music City Bowl gets to select before the Gator and Belk Bowls. We think of it as the bad bowl that we went to at 6-6 in 2010, but its profile and payout have increased substantially since then.
I believe we played Nebraska in the Music City Bowl a few years back, correct?

7-5 is big from a perception stand point. Finish this year with 5 straight wins and much of the sting from early September is forgotten. It would give the staff something to sell on the recruiting trail which looks like it needs a boost. Not going to beat the teams we need to beat without getting some instant impact guys. They get them every year, got to keep pace. Good coaching only gets you so far. The Jimmy's and Joe's are most of it.

The 2019 Tennessee Vols have come together since that players only meeting and have went 4-1 since.
OK just wasn’t sure what you meant! Yeah, I agree and our D is clicking. My main concern are injuries. Without our OLs our run game takes a serious hit. Poor QB play on top of that will keep any team in the game.

If we have a good passing game or running game, and our D plays well, we should beat them.
