Yeah, in the radio interview I heard, Stokes mentioned Scott and Fulmer but I do not recall hearing Slade's name.

Is it just me or did that description of his skill set sound like he was made in a lab to return punts?

fwiw, I lurked on a PSU board and they do not think this one is over, expecially since Stokes said he will still take all five visits. Keep your fingers crossed on this one!

He told Tennessee fans not to worry on the subject of him taking visits. Which is dumb, b/c even if he's taking a free vacation he could change his mind. We will worry if you take visits Stokes. It's only natural.

if I was a kid with the option of taking offical visits, ou better believe that I would take every single one.

I would imagine since Slade coached Jones while he was here that Slade got the visit lined up, since Pat Washington (Jones' other position coach) is gone.

It didn't take long for Hinton to realize Je'Ron Stokes was deserving of his ranking as one the nation's top 100 juniors, according to Rivals.com. Running crisp routes and possessing superior speed, Stokes immediately showed why the University of Pittsburgh has offered a scholarship. Penn State, Rutgers, Florida, Florida State, Ohio State and Tennessee are among other colleges expressing interest in the 6-foot-1, 185-pounder.

"With his skill level, he's like a coach on the field," Hinton said. "He helps the other guys in terms of patterns, how they read Cover 2 or Cover 3, or what it is. He has the skill and he has the desire."

Opponents quickly realized just how skilled Stokes is, too. The 17-year-old had five receptions for a school-record 177 yards and two touchdowns in a season-opening loss to Norristown.

"It felt good to get the record," he said. "Unfortunately, we didn't get to win that game. I'm here to help the team as much as I can. Hopefully, I can help the team go to the state playoffs. That's what I really want."

Along the way, Stokes is on pace to break another Northeast record. He heads into tonight's Public League opener against Central with 13 receptions for a city-best 324 yards and four touchdowns. Despite being double- and triple-teamed, he is only 116 yards shy of breaking the school's single-season receiving yardage record set by Rockeed McCarter in 2004.

I gotta go with Rex on this one. Heck, if you really are good enough to justify it making it seem like you're already leaning another direction might make 'em try even harder.

"Well Mr Saban, I never have tried to see how many cheerleaders can fit with me in a Navigator but I'm sure Miles and Meyer will try to top it so give it your best shot."

I mean, why wouldn't you?

exactly. Why turn down free trips to see other schools and be made to feel like a king for a couple of days. Or do it during the fall and get to see the biggest football games of the year with an all access pass.

Great pick up and start to this class. Hopefully good players will want to join him. I thought it said a lot the good things he had to say about Coach Scott.

PA is stacked this year. If Stokes can help us out(especially with Bell and Savage), his commitment could be the biggest we've got in some time.
