Back during the Summer, Je'Ron Stokes, Nyshier Oliver, Jarvis Giles and myself took a trip around campus taking pics for the website. Never did I think then that Oliver, who eventually changed his commitment to Notre Dame would be the only one of those three to sign with the Vols. I said last night that something was a miss with Stokes and after making a call or two this morning it's my belief that he's staying north and in the Big 10.-Austin Price

Kraig APpleton, 4 star wide receiver just snubbed Illinois and Signed with Wisconsin. This opens the door for Stokes to Illinois.

Not saying rexvol is wrong, but from what I'm getting, we are out of the Stokes run.

Since he started looking around, he's seen the idea of staying closer to home in a "slower" conference much more appealing.

Nah, we would have known last week if we were out.

I think we are in.

Im not predicting anything just reporting a rumor that has a little hope attached

Again, I wasn't saying the rumor wasn't true, as I haven't talked to anyone around Stokes today since all this went down.

I'm basing everything on what I've been told prior to today.

I don't know why, but my gut says he's a vol. does that help? lol

It's now official. Je'Ron Stokes is heading to the University of Michigan.

The highly sought after wide receiver from Northeast High School made his official announcement Wednesday afternoon on National Signing Day.

Stokes’ announcement comes after a lengthy recruiting period. The four-star recruit and U.S. Army All-American originally committed to Tennessee, but when head coach Phil Fulmer was fired in November, the receiver started to look elsewhere.

However, it didn't have to be that way. The NCAA denied Stokes another official visit to Rocky Top despite a whole new coaching staff headed by former Raiders head coach Lane Kiffin. Facing a unique situation, Stokes made an official visit to the University of Illinois and spoke with the University of Georgia, but it was Michigan where he fell in love with the academics, athletics and the schools rich football tradition.
