The fact that Pruitt was just now getting a head coaching gig (get the Vandy crap out of here UT ticket office) might maybe possibly have been a clue that he is a cling-on to successful programs and that success wouldn't follow him to a truly struggling program such as our favorite.Bama recruits itself. If Pruitt was a great recruiter then he would have gotten some top talent to switch to us last class. Or maybe we would be sitting better than 15th for next year’s class
I'm as pissed as anybody, but thats ridiculous. No, Pruitt isn’t nearly as good a recruiter as Smart is. Pruitt doesn’t have the reputation in the coaching world that Smart had when he left. Smart gets maximum effort out of his kids. Pruitt just throws them under the bus if they aren’t top level talent wise
Smart walked into a stocked roster thanks to Richt and he built on it. Pruitt inherits a mid major roster thanks to B*tch. It will take time to recruit over everyone- he needs to show some results on the field to get elite recruits. If not, he won’t have the time to mirror Smart’s results
I agree with this. Pruitt was handed the keys to a Volkswagen and thrown out in an NASCAR race. Was he perfect? Not close, but I would love to see how well Mullen or Smart would have done with this same bunch.Smart walked into a stocked roster thanks to Richt and he built on it.
