Jeremy Pruitt Show

For $4,000,000 I’d run through the T naked. All we’re asking is that he show a little more enthusiasm, considering our AD went out on a limb to give him his first head coaching job.

For the record, I like the guy. But that line made me like him a little bit less.

Do you want results or do you want a coach pumping artificial sunshine into your head?

You've ridiculous.

Y'all take this **** too seriously. I watched the entire show and thought it was hilarious.

As far as the running out of the T... I doubt he cares that much. Fortunately, that is for the players, not the head coach.

He probably enjoyed it. It just sounded bad because he was in a bad mood for being at the Jeremy Pruitt equivalent of the dentist.

I guess I’m always in a good mood, and I don’t make $4,000,000 a year, so it’s hard for me to understand what he has to be pissy about.

And saying that running through the T is “different”, I just can’t imagine any other coach describing it that way. Les Miles, Dan Mullen, Will Muschamp, none of those guys would have said that.

As I said, win and nobody cares. But drop a couple of years in a row to Florida, SC, Vandy etc and then his attitude won’t be as accepted.

Then, for the record quit being such a pussy. Pruitt laid it out very early, he chose to come here, he didnt have to. Maybe you need to analyze how you respond to things more so that worry about what public emotions another man does or doesn't display. Would you be happy if he said running through that T made him rock hard?

That’d be better than what he said.

Look guys, coaches come with different personalities. He's not a particularly engaging personality in front of the camera. It's obvious he's not comfortable there. You can't make a camera shy person all of the sudden charismatic. He'll get better with time and experience.

And Dooley was quite engaging and comfortable in front of the camera. I'll take our current coach.

Not gonna lie.

If Pruitt is still here when Saban retires and Bama comes calling, and then Pruitt turns them down, then I'll believe he's not a Bammer at heart.

I hope he wins every football game he ever coaches at Tennessee and retires from here as a legend. I know he's not a Bama sleeper cell trying to sabotage the program. I know he's trying to win every time he takes the field. But deep-seeded allegiances don't go away just like *that*.

@18:28 during the show, when Banks makes his first TD, I love the comment from CJP "He needs to act like he's been in there before"

Love this mentality!

Actually...Banks HADN'T "been there before". I like to think that the "coachable moment" *which you can see on the TV replay* was when he came to the sideline, and Pruitt took him aside...was that he said..."Now, that you got that celebration out of the way...from now on...I want you to act like you've been there before...Aight??!!"

I just watched it and think we are over reacting. He’s not gonna talk your head off or put on a fake show. The truth is he’s a true football coach, not a sunshine pumping salesman. He’s the guy for this job. Just because some of his answers weren’t as enthusiastic as some wanted them to be, I dont think that’s a sign he doesn’t wanna be here. Like he said, he chose to come here. He could’ve stayed at Bama, waited one more year and get a power 5 job (other then Tn, or one of Bamas rivals with ease). He chose to be here because he believes this is HIS job, and believes he will make the Vols great again. I believe It too, and think we’re going over board with this. He’s a loyal coach and don’t think he’ll ever pull a Kiffen on us. GBO

I thought Banks' celebration was appropriate and controlled. Excessive would have drawn a flag. Let's hope he looks as good in SEC games.

It is fabulous how he critiques, what appears to be a good play, and says it could have been better....And also why a play did not work.....

I love the fact he's not satisfied with the win!!! Throughout the show he was critical of each play and what should have been done to have been better. Love the mindset of perfection being the goal.

I noticed the same thing, it is like when the WR made the big play in the first quarter on the long pass play all he said was......"He needs to catch that ball higher up in his body." twice. Bob said nice play and he said he caught it too low and that catching it low would come back to bite him later in the game. It was almost like he was mad he had to be there not much personality. BUT you know who else does not like the press and hates doing those shows....NICK SABAN... am i right boys?????????

Poor Bob though, hahah having to stare into JP's shark like eyes hoping for a connection. It's kinda sad funny. I was a bit disappointed he didn't exalt the running through the T more. I do think about how much it probably sucks to have to do that on Sunday Morning after everything and how tired he has to be. They should really reschedule it for like Monday night or something. I bet he gets 6 hours of sleep Friday to Sunday. I really don't like how they rush him through the plays. It's obvious that is what he enjoys talking about, so let him dictate the flow of analysis. Plus, give him till Monday to have reviewed footage and have some answers to questions.

I love watching then running through the T...I get chills, even though I've never done it. I love our tradition. However, why its special, is because we associate running through the T with winning. I think Pruitt is more concerned with winning than anything thing else. No year 0, no fluff, just an incredible, insatiable desire to win. And we all know, we are a work in progress. His statement is just a reminder of how far we fallen....
In a few years, when he can look down at his national championship ring, I imagine that running through the T will mean a bit more to him, and to my kids.
We all hope he wins. Winning doesn’t have to be
disconnected from reality and the traditions that mean so much to the fan base.
How about, “it was an honor to participate in this tradition.” How fu/:ing hard would it be to say something simple like that?

You've ridiculous.
Bullshat. Respecting the traditions isn’t pumping artificial sunshine. It is a privilege to coach at this university. Don’t piss down my neck and tel me it’s raining.

I agree. A simple “man, that was something” and I’d have been like damn, I really like this guy. But he either didn’t give a damn about the question, or he didn’t give a damn about running through the T. And if it’s the latter, that should concern everyone.
