Jeremy Pruitt Show: Kentucky

Yep, Pruitt comes off as exceedingly dour at times... needs to play more on the positive side of things.

All I know is, he better win and win big, because he's not winning anyone over with his personality or attitude. Bill Belichick can get away with this only because he wins, same with Saban. He starts losing too many games, this attitude makes it really easy to not like him.

So he needs to put on a show for you? there is nothing wrong with his attitude .

Like his idol, Saban, Pruitt's only focus is on winning. He seems to think all the media component is useless and fake - at least going by his tortured expression every time a camera is on him. He knows all this media stuff will give you a bit of cushion but in the end if you dont deliver on the recruiting trail, on the practice field and in the stadium, the most charming media personality in the world means nothing. In all of his coaching stops, winning was the only measure of success and the media and fans learned to love whatever personality went along with that winning. It will be same here.

Personally, I love the fact that while we see WEWON!!!!!!!!!, he seems to see "ok, there was some improvement in execution here and there but still a lot of mistakes, must improve on here, there and there." That is a man who is not looking for a 10 win season to be his high water mark.
I can appreciate that, and to a point I also like that he prioritizes being the head football coach, not the head cheerleader and spokesperson. All I'm saying is that if you are likable, people give you the benefit of the doubt. If you are an a-hole, not so much. Again, winning will make us tolerate a lot, but he acts like this and loses, fans will get tired of it quick.

No kidding, but it's probably 5:00 in the morning. He doesn't appear to have even changed clothes from the game

I don't blame him for not wanting to be there. He is a coach that would rather be working than doing shows, and talking with the media.
I can get behind his attitude, I love and respect it.

The media will turn on you the 1st chance they get anyway, no use playing like he loves them.

But that is exactly the point - Pruitt doesnt fear that possibility, probably because he does not believe there is any other possible outcome other than him turning this program into a winner. There was an excellent line in the movie Gattaca about two brothers, one genetically engineered and one naturally born competing with each other by swimming as far into the ocean as possible. When the more genetically gifted brother gives up from exhaustion and the other brother actually drags him back to shore he wanted to know how could his brother have possibly beat him? His brother's answer was that he never saved anything for the swim back. Winners think only of how to win. Losers think about protecting against losing. It is hard, after falling down repeatedly, not to think how to protect yourself from falling. But that will not help you in winning the race that requires moving forward.

Well good for you but it is refreshing to have a coach like this.

Reminds of Doug Dickey. All business, little personality. Second best coach we ever had. Hopefully he can duplicate his success.

Say what you want. He's a coach, not Johnny Carson. If you watch the whole thing, there is one point where KY did a quick snap and burned us. He took the blame. Didn't get the right personnel on the field. I don't remember Butch ever taking the blame for anything. I CJP pushing himself for improvement as well as the team. A first time head coach has a learning curve too. I have no problem with him sitting there looking like a kid in time out. lol He's won two now he wasn't favored in. After Charlotte, I didn't see us winning any more. Now I see bowl eligibility as a real possibility.

He probably started early morning making sure every coach was prepared for the game. After game has to handle press ,then talk to team and coaches about the next game. Which he's already put in about 14 hours. Now got to get ready for the show. He gets paid well for it but sure not the part he enjoys.

I'm with the Aaron on this. The show should have ended years ago. At least they shouldn't have the coach on them.

Sunday morning coaches shows served a purpose when not all games were on TV, and we didn't have the immediate media barrage that we have now. We can all watch our own highlights, or watch the whole game on demand, anytime we want. And there are a million articles about the postgame press conference, including live streams and media folks live-tweeting it.

Simply no need to make a coach get up that time of the morning on Sunday and sit through one of these shows. Would be better if they just came out with a midweek show to recap the game and show some behind-the-scenes stories for an insider's look that fans would enjoy, without making the coach sit through that crap.

It looks like he is running the game film in his head. I like the fact he looks like he would rather be elsewhere and that this show is a complete waste of airtime.

He really doesn’t enjoy that stuff. Fine with me.

He reminds me of Bo Pelini. It is all good as long as improvement and winning are on the card. The minute any amount of backsliding occurs, this demeanor will hurt him. I do believe he is a good coach and will be successful. However, he hasn't been a head coach before and doesn't realize he represents the University along with being the head coach. I hope he grows into being a good representative.

I don't think his attitude shows any disrespect toward how he represents the University. He dislikes the media and doing the shows, and I think that's fine.
I think he loves the University and everything it stands for.
