Many Fans hang on every word that the head coach utters, stutters and stammers, but the more expierienced fans are past the coach speak and just want to win.......Again

You think your English skills are lacking? have you ever listened to Pruitt talk for more than 10 seconds?
Considering he just posted an entire press conference video, I believe he has seen Pruitt speak for more than 10 seconds.

Pretty sad when all one can find to be positive about with this team is how well the coach communicated during a press conference. I guess we have slipped below the level at which we can hope for moral victories against powerhouses like Vandy and Mizzou and Georgia State, and now we have to content ourselves with a good mouthpiece for the program.

Awesome.

That time of the month?

Losing to Georgia State is the very definition of doing football the wrong way...

Those 2 losses early would be the catalyst and high irony of UT football for the last 20 years....... if this happened,

Think about it, we have seen and witnessed more unimaginable things surrounding this program over the last decade plus, but, what we witnessed the first 2 weeks was one of the most unimaginable things that hasn't happened. In a sick bizzarro world we have now checked every box for every scenario imaginable with this program.

What is more fitting than ending our quagmire of patheticness, than this beginning of a season, and beating UF this weekend, and having UGA play a tight tough game with ND that somehow opened up a window of hope by degrading their mentality from the game, and low and behold, defying probability, beat both the gaturds and dogs in back to back weeks, and are staring at first place in the East. Why not, it is the most Tennessee football thing imaginable...right.....? (don't piss on my Wheaties and ruin this great awakening from the horrible dream that has been UT football)

We wouldn't know what to do would we........besides look at one another and just kind of shrug our shoulders and say ok........

Keep hope alive!!!!

FU** floriduhhh and the dogs, what better way to piss them off than beat them both after our start......would be so unimaginably awesome.

Don't sour or sully this post, just close your eyes, and imagine, and hope.

I do not have the best skills in the practice of the English language, but this press conference seems to have been done the right way. Everything he said processed cleanly. I call this good, clear communication.

I see improvement and hope we see the same on the field.
JP is doing things the right way...

Cept on the field. Press conference wins zero games.

Based on my observations of all the post here, the National media must be talking about all the Negative Nancy's on here when they lambasted the Vol Fan base.
Dumb post are dumb........good post to get you some likes from folks that dont pay attention to reality....national media gave fan base tons of praise the last few years for continually packing that stadium, being loud, traveling well with 14 years of crap football....but dont let facts get in the way of a good story. With the continual worship of crappy coaches, the only thing left to blame is fans.

Not really counting UTC, if we do see the improvement and true competition vs Gators, he'll get some people off his back. I do think we're shoring up some things, but I just don't know how we're going to score what's probably going to need to be in the 28 point range to win the game, unless we get some short fields with turnovers and special teams.

As John Madden observed, "You are what your record says you are." All the rest is hot air. Nick Saban is not noted for his handling of press conferences, but he is what his record says he is.

We’ve heard the same exclamations about every coach since Fulmer, how everything is being “done the right way.”

If everything is being done right, I’d love to see how winning is wrong.

Really? You heard this about Dooley? I sure never did, and I dam well would not have said it. Butch...maybe, but only partially. Kiffin definitely partially...recruiting seemed to be picking up (not that it had been down long, we were no. 2 in 2007), game planning was great, but he had other issues. Same with Butch. But I don't think anyone in their right mind ever said Dooley's "shower discipline" for example, was doing things the right way.

What the OP may mean, and what I mean for sure is that Pruitt seems to be better than all the above at doing things the right way. I can be specific. One, player recruiting is good, though not great. Two, player development seems much better (see Blaine Thompson last year and Henry To'o to'o this year, and others). Three, the on the field product is there, at times (see Auburn and Kentucky last year).

Those are the pros. Cons are that the team has often seemed unmotivated (see Vandy and Mizzou last year, G State this year), and so we are inconsistent week to week. The hope would be that this is due to Pruitt learning on the job.
