Jeremy Banks knocks out #56

North South runner and he runs pissed off. Needs more carries. He and Chandler should get the majority of the snaps, then London. Jordan needs to watch how Banks runs and do the same.

Jordan needs to learn where the play is going. Every run, he wants to bounce outside....why even have him running the ball out of the endzone?

I see the knock out you are talking about and raise you the man handling he did with rusher at the 12:42 mark. He mauls him!!
Not only does he manhandle him but delivers a nice pancake at the end. He should be in the game at least 50% of the time and on all short yardage plays.

This thread is interesting. Banks has been getting praise from us fans, rightfully so, ever since he has stepped on the field. People talk about how hard he runs, his attitude, physicality and toughness. Then there are the praises about players like Alonte Taylor and Bryce Thompson and Flowers. There was even a lot of buzz about Tillman in camp.

Funny how all this buzz is about true freshman players. Yet it seems like there is very little praise being heaped on the upperclassmen.
I really do think once Pruitt gets his boys in here we will be competing for the east.

Also, at around 12:39, Banks puts a guy on his back. Liking this kid more and more each game. I believe it was this game, but I remember at one point seeing Banks in CJPs ear on 4th down..... likely wanting the ball in his hands.

TJ Slaton was not “knocked out.” He laid there apparently tired and disappointed, but as soon as Reese asked him if he was okay, he got up and walked off with no issues.

I was at the game and saw this in person. I’ve watched the TV replay of the entire game several times (as you can imagine) and it doesn’t show TJ getting up and walking off normally, but he did. UF was fortunate to have zero major injuries this game. If he was “knocked out” there would have been an injury delay, but there wasn’t because he wasn’t.

Banks is 4th string in a batch of mediocre RB’s. If it makes someone feel better because they think he concussed a UF player, that’s a little sick, but you do you. Hopefully no Gator fans are out bragging about CJ hurting JG’s shoulder/collarbone on the pressure or Cece falling into his knee. That too, would be sick.
Correct. Our RBs are mediocre, perhaps 1 or 2 are slightly above mediocre (Chandler with his speed, Banks with his effort). You’re also right that the UF player wasn’t knocked out...that’s a dumb take to say he was.
I’ll give you Chandler, he’s the best of the lot and the only one with SEC speed. Jordan was way over-hyped because of 2 or 3 pretty good runs against WV. London too slow. Banks may be good in time, but right now he’s the latest Jordan. Over-hyped.
Disagree with your last sentence. Banks has more juice than Jordan, runs more decisively, and with more energy. He’s alreast better than Jordan. I don’t think Banks is really much hyped at all. Obviously, Ty is the most talented because of his speed and burst but even he isn’t real good and fluid in the open field, has to chop down his steps and loses a lot of speed in his cuts. London is mediocre.

I've watched the 13-minute video that OP shared, including reviewing several plays in detail, and some things have been confirmed for me:

Our DL & LBs are soft. Sorry for the blunt criticism, but no other way to say it. They get pushed around during the play and at the end they get tossed aside with ease. Not 100% of the time, but WAY TOO MUCH. They have got to toughen up and get some meanness in 'em

This offense functioned much more smoothly with KC running it after JG went out. He had them in the right protections a good bit more and made quicker decisions. He definitely lacks the flare of JG, but he was more effective. JG's long throws were off timing the whole game.

Drew Richmond is quite awful. I hate to pick on a kid, but man he had a terrible game, and it's happened enough to say it's just the reality. I'm not just talking about the abundance of penalties from 51, I'm talking about the absolute failure to hold blocks long enough for the play to develop. The fact that he's playing so much reflects very poorly on the alternatives.

ETA: When Trey Smith decides to blow somebody up...OMG that dude can be a beast.

Just my thoughts. The video is certainly revealing, and not as traumatic as you would think. Go Vols

Another 4* bust who hasn’t contributed since he’s been here.
Phillips was actually a 5-star, #1 overall recruit in Tennessee, #4 strong side defensive end in the country, #36 overall recruit nationally. Offer list included LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, FSU, Georgia, Ohio St, and Penn St, among others.

His, Kongbo's and Drew Richmond's total lack of production while at Tennessee is both mind-boggling and absolutely pathetic. It's sickening how their talent has been wasted, either from bad coaching, their own lack of effort, or a combination of both.

agreed. he needs all of jordan's minutes. i think fils-aime is a better rb than jordan as well now that we've seen both over the last 2 years. however, i dont think pruitt is quite comfortable with Banks confidence and cockiness and that's why he and chandler are not our 1-2 tandem just yet. they would make a hell of a combo with london being the 3rd guy. jordan looks like he'd be better on defense

Disagree. The reason Jordan was tackled in the end zone is because he didn’t, as usual, press the hole....he continued his bad habit of always trying to bounce the run outside, right into contain...and when he gave ground to do so, he was 1-2 yards deep in the end zone and, voila, safety.

Obviously, I agree that the OL was/is awful, but if you’ll notice from earlier games, Banks gets yards running between the tackles that Jordan doesn’t....because Banks hits it up into the hole where the play is designed, as opposed to Jordan who routinely bounces the ball outside.

I agree that most of the backs not named Banks do too much dancing. I think all our backs could improve their vision, hit holes and stay behind blockers. Amazing they get to this level without that skill.

However, with as many yards as o-line was getting pushed back, I stil think banks gives up the safety. We can't run right at anyone in the SEC. Now, If we have to run those plays banks is my choice but should have called better plays in that situation.

No if he hit the hole that was there he would have at least gotten out of the end zone maybe more.

If by the hole you mean between 81 and trey smith then maybe back to the goal line but depends on timing of 81 getting tossed. If he gets there when picture is taken then too late because gaytar hits him in the mouth and he loses his legs on 81.

If he goes to the right of 81 then defenders on both sides hit him. Notice the defender with head and outside arm free.

Either way best case scenario is back to line of scrimmage and that is a loss of about 4 inches.

Banks took a licking and kept on ticking.............. The other guy, not so much!

Seriously, Banks's head is harder than #56's is............

nah, 81 loses the block in the hole causing the entire play to go south. he blocks and drives and jordan could get about 2 to 4 yards inside easily. everyone else inside was being blocked
