Jeremy Banks is back on the team

Surprised at all the forgiveness after all the criticism directed toward him and his hometown Memphis (Cordova, whatever). Serious question. At what level does true principle come in to play? Clearly being videoed being abusive and threatening toward law enforcement and women doesn't meet that threshold. What behavior would coaching staff and fans agree "that is absolutely unacceptable" and doesn't work here just like it doesn't work in real life?

For once, I am asking a serious question and not looking for who is most easily offended.

Starting at QB, obviously.
As for Banks, he is an immature kid who had not learned to keep his mouth shut. None of the situations were physical in nature (unless i missed something) I think when it moves to the physical realm is where it starts to cross the line. Each situation has its own circumstances to consider, so there is no single blanket answer.

Different style of LBs. Banks is versatile, QC is a run stopper. Both will play their roles.

I'll be honest, Banks looked lost his entire time at LB. But I can see the potential. If he can get to understand the position better, he can be good there.

So we kick Jordan of the team with no chance to return for a half ounce of weed, and a legally owned gun in the car, but Banks ends up on TMZ talking **** to law enforcement and he is back the following year? One of these is not like the others.

Fair point but weed plus gun is a problem. That said, I'm not sure a half ounce of heroin would have caused Banks to be expelled/dismissed. His behavior was pretty egregious. Him coming back makes the University look terrible, like above all else football matters.

A very Dark day for the University of Tennessee as a whole.

So you are going to count against him forever the events of that night? Can he get a 2nd chance ? Obviously if he screws up again it will be his last chance for the Vols.

I don't have a problem with Banks coming back. Particularly if he does what he is supposed to do, and keeps his nose clean. I was just pointing out the difference between the treatment of 2 situations. I have a lot less problem with Jordan's offenses than I do Banks. Even if you say both offenses carry equal weight, the only difference between the situation is one was recruited by Butch, and one was recruited by Pruitt.

I'm sure that night wasn't his first and only indiscretion. So yes, I think he blew it. And no, there's no reason to think his "second" chance would be his last. The original question was whether there is a deal breaker threshold that a player doesn't come back.

I see a couple of terms on Defense I had not heard of before. “Buck” for Lb and “Money” at DB. What situations are they used for? I know “Star” is used when a 5th DB is on the field.

Could you enlighten me at what point he was off scholarship and who took that scholarship?
Exactly. I thought it was said that he remained a student at UTK so that in itself made me think he still held a scholly. I mean im just assuming idk his family's financial situation or anything

Do remember him having 2 picks in a game last year. I am sure you know alot more than me about the team. Just remember reading no TN LB had done that in a few decades. Guess anybody can get lucky.
I thought it was 3 picks but i could be wrong

What were his other indiscretions prior to this?

Correct again on all counts. We've had 4 players arrested during the Pruitt regime. This one was the only one sold to TMZ,yep that's how TMZ gets their vids. The crime was an unpaid speeding ticket, and was pulled over for a U turn. Hard to rehabilitate them traffic law offenders. His crime fell into the Ron White territory. of " He had the right to remain silent, Just not the ability," Some guys on here remind me of another Ron White skit.
