Then why do players routinely get recruited over?
How “routinely” do they lose their scholarship? In the real world you get fired if you can’t perform your job. Not if there’s someone at another company that does it slightly better. If you get fired for something else, they may try to hire him/her as your REPLACEMENT. Just a terrible analogy dude...jump off that runaway buggy.

Answer the question why are players recruited over. Why was Drew Richmond playing for USC and not Tennessee his 5th year?

Lol ok. So he provides a service to the school and in turn they give him a 💯 free ride. He even signed an LOI. He's not an ' employee " but it's the exact same premise. Fans who are demanding he be given a 2nd chance at Tennessee would drop him like a hot potato if this were a walk on type player.
So he is still enrolled at UT correct.. Taking classes along with other college students.. Correct? So the only difference between what he doing now and what he was doing before making a ass out of himself is playing football.. You know like risking his health for the game we all love.. And the team we love.. Interesting isn't it? We are cool with him making amends and staying in school, but get upset that he wants to play football... Crazy.. I personally think it would be more punishment to play the game.. With the practices..s&c and what not.. He needs to be reinstated and run the bleachers.. But maybe next year.. 😉

He'll start at ILB opposite HT next season. Crouch will stay at OLB and will develop into one of the best edge setting/pass rushers in the country...Courtney Upshaw is the comparable player for Crouch's future..

And if he is put back on the team I will trust the coach. On the other hand if he is not then I think it was the right thing to do in letting him attend class because it puts him behind in his class work. I have no issue with how the situation has been handled. I advocate letting him go somewhere else. But Coaches Pruitt and Fulmer will be the ones making and living with whatever is the outcome.

On this day of Thanks, I’m thankful I’m not an 18 year old kid trying to find my way. When I was that age, there was no social media, Police took you home for your parents to deal with you, and they DID. I may not subscribe fully to the “product of his environment”, but I do believe in second chances

I don't recall him being drunk or on drugs, that is just the way he speaks when sober-as many have pointed out, if he were drunk there would have been different charges. I'm surprised no one seems to be bothered by the racist remarks the sober jb made to the police officers-I don't feel there is any place in TN or at UT for racial slurs, or racial remarks, or for anyone to defend this type of behavior. Everyone is entitled to freedom of expression; however, racial remarks made by a TN Football team member reflects on the State of TN and UT. Shame on him for that type of sober speech.

Not because he got fired. It was more HIS perception of HIS fit in the offense. Now that we’re more than 10 miles away from the subject of this thread, how you getting back...hitchhiking?

Speaking of racist, when does your policy of every athlete being Caucasian or British take effect?

Could he be JJ#15 2.0? Will he get a baby named after him?

Hopefully he has had a maturing moment and attitude adjustment!

I trust CJP and staff to make the right decision for the team.

He needs the Father Figure that CJP and staff can provide....if and only if he is ready to put his past behind him.

On a side note, is there a rule that you can only make screenshots and Instagram posts if you have less than 15% battery life?

it’s actually 25%, since it was thanksgiving i was burning battery life!

For most humans it is impossible to forget or forgive. That's why we are not God. If he is given a 2nd chance then that is one of the hardest things for some to accept. It is harder to forgive and easier to hate these days. He deserves a 2nd chance if he is doing the right things. How he handles that 2nd chance is the big thing. He was one of the guys I was really rooting for. I hope he does come back in beast mode. Good luck Jeremy.
But didn't he kill forty people? Or five or six? One? Surely he must have committed multiple felonies...

Oh, wait, he said one ill-considered, very foolish thing, which of course no one on here has ever done the like of, so therefore we absolutely should sit in judgment on him and take away his best chance at a productive life.

We’ve all made mistakes ..... and some of us feel bad about those we made....and some of us feel bad about some of those, but know we had a damn good time

If he is still attending classes then the University didn't have a problem with it so I trust CJP and the AD will make the best decision for the team.

A month ago, I would have thought you are wrong, with "him coming back." I think we're probably watching another JJennings lesson play out in front of our eyes.

Jennings did not do anything like Banks did. But with that said, I think if pruitt gives him a list of things to do and he does them he should be given a second chance.
As well as things not to do.

If he comes back I'd make him play tailback

Jennings did not do anything like Banks did, but with that said I think if Pruitt gives him a list of things to do and not do he should be given a second chance to straighten up his act. Imo Banks was the best rb on the roster, just needed to work on securing the ball. Either rb or lb I don't care would just like to see him back.

In interviews, Nigel Warrior (amongst other) credited the turnaround to when the players started “having each other’s backs when errors and mistakes are made”. Not sure how that mentality jibes with your kick im to the curb thinking.

Actually the team turned around when jg was pulled as a starter. In the Ga game. From that time on we have improved for whatever reason. We had ala on the ropes till jg pulled his rogue stunt. I think everyone needs a second chance just as we gave jg for that huge mistake, and just as we gave jennings. And I think it was right to give all these a second chance.

Was he drinking? I didn't think that was an issue with his arrest-just an illegal U turn and a bench warrant.

I think anyone who watched the video could tell he was drunk or on something one. But yes he should be given a second chance. He is a very good football player, and I think anyone deserves a second chance.

It was on all 3 major networks and Fox news for 3 days. You eliminate his voice by detaching him from the football team. No one cares what a normal student says when they are arrested. They can remove him from the team for almost any reason but kicking a kid from school is more difficult and possibly an additional negative story. I can guarantee if he had not mentioned killing cops he would still be on the team. He can blame the national news media.

It is my understanding that he did not get kicked off the team for talking about shooting cops, but for another incident on campus for stalking and threatening a female. Both of them together was the reason. Had it not been for the other incident he had not been kicked off till the second one. But I think he still should be given a second chance. If he is still on campus attending classes and no other problems have arose that's good enough for me. Should he have done those things no he shouldn't but give the man a chance.

And I am sure there was never a conversation after Vandy last year that spoke to his playing time going forward.

Hold up now. No need to make it more than it already is. What's the point in that?
