I personally think we used him just the right amount today. JJ is at his best on 3rd down and short yardage with YAC. He definitely is a tenacious possession type receiver and looks to advance the ball after the catch. We have a couple of other talented receivers so going to JJ exclusively would hurt his effectiveness IMO.

Yeah going to anyone exclusively would severely limit an offense.

During his touchdown catch, I loved how he fought off the closely guarding Auburn player. Sort slapped his arms aside with a get the "hail" out of my way manner.
Pretty smooth how he moved the DB off of him with his left forearm to get just enough separation to make the catch. Barely noticeable at the time but realistically offensive pass interference. Receivers do it all the time but the better ones do it in a way that refs can't call it. JJ could beat any DB in the nation one on one in a jump ball situation. Hope he stays around because he's already a go to player. We just haven't gone to him enough.

The way he leveled that linebacker put him in at TE.

Calloway, Jennings, & Palmer on field 80% of snaps.....

Jennings has the kind of killer instinct you can't coach. Impossible not to appreciate seeing him leave it all on the field.

Like what you say, but don't think he has the body of a tight end. Remember a tight end must block more than catch. He is just not big enough to do it. Bad enough? Yes, but lots of times that attitude can get you hurt.

I disagree strongly! Not offensive pass interference. If a receiver is close enough to a defender to reach him with his elbow, before a pass gets there, then the defender is at fault and likely has already committed interference.

Now as to this play, what I really liked was the way he calmly handed the ball to the official and started walking away. Like "no big deal" that's what I was supposed to do. Lets get on with this.

Obvious that he isnt JG's favored target but I really wish they would get him more involved. I really like the way MC plays but JJ looks like he has more to prove.

I can only assume you understood what I meant on “exclusively”. JJ does not need to be a featured receiver. Maybe that’s the better word. He’s not that type of receiver IMO. In fact we have NO featured receiver type YET. And yesterday was the perfect example of what I’m talking about. Completions to so many receivers is a great thing.

Jennings knows how to handle DBacks and all our receivers are getting good at that. This WR coach may be my favorite coach right now. A lot of those JG throws were high or certainly not perfect and WRS were getting position and making the plays. This would be a high powered offense if we had the OL because a lot of skill at every position. The OL played decent enough today for us to put some points on the board.
I hope we are on our way back to being known as Wide Receiver University again

He is the most complete football player that we have. He blocks, catches short, intermediate, and deep, runs good routes, is constantly open, gets 50 50 balls, gets tough yac, good field awareness, strong special teams tracker, even throws a good ball.

He could also play qb, ss, fs, maybe lb, maybe cb.
