Surely, if that happens, the political fall out will end Congressional and possibly administration careers. And if it happens, and some principled folks leak the truth about Trump in the files, well, leave it to your imagination.

Not if it implicates high ranking democrats, especially ones that will be running for the WH. Wait until they are fully entrenched in the campaign and throw down. It doesn't make sense that Trump would have any incriminations in those files. The hatred that the democrat party has for him would override any reason they have to sit on them. The ONLY possible exception I could think of would be if Soetoro is in there, but even that might be worth the sacrifice to them. That then leads me to believe that if Trump isn't in there, it would make sense to sit on them until there is an explosive political moment to drop the files. I'm thinking DNC convention, 2028.
