The anecdote comes a day after Trump said that he severed ties with the disgraced financier and child sex offender, who died in prison by suicide six years ago, after “he stole people who worked for me.”

When asked whether one of those young women was Virginia Giuffre, one of Epstein’s most vocal accusers, he said “I think so. I think that was one of the people,” adding that Epstein “stole her.”

“And by the way, she had no complaints about us whatsoever,” the president added.

Giuffre died by suicide in April.

2007: Epstein indicted and banned from mar-a-lago

That Trump knew or had any inclination what JE was doing with VG in 2000.

I think it's worth noting that in 2007 Alex Acosta was the prosecutor who gave Epstein a sweetheart deal, and then as president, Trump made him secretary of labor.

It's circumstancial evidence, but it's the smelliest kind.

Trying too hard to emphasize their falling out, imo. He figures if he says its business related, and tries to be sarcastic about turning down the "privilege" of being on the island, that will make him look more authentic in his denials.

I really don't know. I don't think its minor, like going to a social event that was very public. Something innocent, like that.
