The WSJ article is brutal.

It isn’t clear how the letter with Trump’s signature was prepared. Inside the outline of the naked woman was a typewritten note styled as an imaginary conversation between Trump and Epstein, written in the third person.

“Voice Over: There must be more to life than having everything,” the note began.
Donald: Yes, there is, but I won’t tell you what it is.
Jeffrey: Nor will I, since I also know what it is.
Donald: We have certain things in common, Jeffrey.
Jeffrey: Yes, we do, come to think of it.
Donald: Enigmas never age, have you noticed that?
Jeffrey: As a matter of fact, it was clear to me the last time I saw you.
Trump: A pal is a wonderful thing. Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret.

Internet theorizing:

They're talking in code... "Enigmas" is an anagram for Gamines...

Trump was photographed with Epstein multiple times in social situations in the 1990s and early 2000s, and had been a neighbor of Epstein's in Florida.
He was quoted in 2002 in New York magazine as saying, "I've known Jeff for 15 years. Terrific guy. He's a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side."

if there is no evidence of a crime, then how can a person be tried for a crime when no evidence of a crime being committed even exists?

Do you want to go on trial for bank robbery when there is zero evidence you committed bank robbery?

No evidence does not mean a crime was not committed, but as the Fed Prosecutor I have been quoting says evidence matters. People cannot be willy nilly be charged with crimes when there is no evidence of guilt.

A problem is we have evidence Biden committed financial crimes, Hilliary committed crimes, Obama committed crimes but they are not being charged and taken to court over those crimes as other people would have been.

Trump campaigned on it. That’s pretty much the bottom line. He made it an issue for votes and now he thinks that people are stupid enough to forget it. Even if there’s nothing there he still tried to bait and switch.

Can’t pretend to know the entirety of what each has said on the topic, but did they actually promote conspiracy or call for transparency?

I’ve for sure seen those people call for more transparency on the issue. Don Jr has probably went further. Idk that Vance or Patel have

The letter wasn’t that interesting. If Trump were significantly involved, his entire campaign wouldn’t have been calling for the release.
