I'm betting that no administration will really allow all the Epstein files to get out. He was an intelligence asset, and the intelligence community will protect their methods and dirty deeds viciously. See JFK assassination. Trump can promise in one hand and sh!t in the other one and see which one fills up first. Our shadow government (intelligence agencies) will always keep many things secret from us. They won't allow a civilian who will be in office for a few years force their hand, they'll just wait him out.

Two scenarios:

1. They just got control of a large trove of blackmail material and plan to use it. I have a hard time believing Trump was implicated. The previous DOJ would have leaked it.

2. Less likely....they just set a trap for democrats to start demanding an investigation and the files. Then they release them and let the chips fall where they may.
