Why is this crap on Volnation, This is just a cry baby trying to get back at Dooley for not letting him into practice. He is the coach he can let whoever he wants in. News Flash

oh you mean the home page of VN that gathers stories about UT and posts them for people to read? The reason it's on VN is because it's relevant to UT football.

I was about to post this after reading it. Just because Dooley doesn't want you in his practices doesn't mean he thinks he is God. He wants full control over his practices and he doesn't want distractions for his players. Try to go get into a Saban or Meyer practice, it's going to be just as difficult.

seriously

Because he is a head coach of a Division I college football team, and because head coaches of Division I college football teams often confuse themselves with God, Dooley spent the preseason banning the media from practices and scrimmages. Which is, to be fair, his right -- though without good reason. When the Vols recently held a mock game, reporters asked if they'd finally be permitted to watch Tennessee play. According to knoxnews.com, Dooley told the press that he would only allow access to those members of the press he deemed worthy.

BS, our program has been a circus the past few years and we dont need clowns like Jeff Pearlman (who?) and Mike Griffith around

I love the irony....

In an article where he is effectively chastising Dooley for being full of himself, this reporter takes a shot by saying he was higher up UT's list for a replacement coach than Dooley.

Because he was Tennessee's 134th choice to replace the departed (and detested) Lane Kiffin (If you're wondering, No. 133 was David Steele, former bass player for the Fine Young Cannibals, No. 132 was Emmanuel Lewis and No. 131 was me), most assumed Dooley would arrive with great humility and appreciation.

If I knew who this clown was I might be inclined to take offense.

He's a self proclaimed truth seeker trying to make his name by picking on the low hanging fruit of the coaching tree.

Haha. What a baby. He's probably bitter because his SI name badge didn't get him into practice.

Pearlman is just butthurt he wasn't invited. I think its a good idea to keep the media out of stuff. It helps the team focus and you don't have all these annoying reporters running around everywhere trying to get interviews.
