Jeff Lebby to interview for OC

The early signing period. Simple as that.
I can see your point but realistically it's probably not going to change anything one way or the other. Most early enrollees already have where they're going figured out for the most part whether we're aware or not. As far as negative recruiting not having an OC is probably the last thing I would use against Tennessee.

Georgia is looking for a DC. Of course everyone knows Smart is the true DC. FSU and Bama have both lost their OCs in the past what 4-5 days? And we wre going on how long now?
are you saying that Saban didnt know that his OC was leaving before it happened ? LOL yeah sure ! SMH

There is 0.0% excuse for the 11th most valuable program in college football to be interviewing a quarterbacks coach from anywhere other than Alabama for our OC position. I was on board with Pruitt in the beginning; the way the season unfolded gave me pause, but the two good wins balanced that; but someone, whether it's Pruitt or Fulmer or the BOT or the administration or whoever, is botching this search royally, and it's not okay. If we end up hiring someone this unqualified and he fails, Pruitt deserves the speedy exit he will get. And the AD deserves a deserted Neyland, which they will get if they keep up this cavalier attitude toward running the program.
OR maybe they're interviewing him for another position and the media got it wrong.

Let the whining begin. Genius fans had to Google him so therefore he's not qualified. Yurcich was at Shippensburg St. and somewhere else before Okie State. Freeze wasn't a household name until he was. My suggestion for all the whiners is to stop supporting UT football and find another program. Bunch of losers.
Well by default all us VOL fans are technically losers, just look at the last 2 seasons.

7-5 might be a stretch.

If we don't win at least 7 games next year, Pruitt will probaly will be on the hot seat. 8 home games. You better win 7 games. This OC search, how are we going to get any good players on the offense side of the ball with no OC. Pruitt better be selling something, his job could be on the line.

And there it is, the absolute unrealistic expectations that drives insanity of this fan base.

If this report is true and we actually interviewed, or even approached, Lebby for the OC position, it seems highly likely that someone is sabotaging this process. Whether that someone be a former coach who thinks he can hamstring the current one so he gets fired and then step into the HC position to save the day, or a BOT being influenced by an NFL owner who didn't get to steer the last hiring process the way he wanted to and is trying to show us who's boss, or an administration that is trying to put the finishing touches on making this football program irrelevant, who knows...There are plenty of qualified OCs out there who have track records at good schools and would come here for the right money.

Given what we have went through in the past decade plus, it would be modus operandi for those who shouldnt be involved in an OC search are meddling. Its the TN way.

I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt but all of those scenarios are plausible. I don’t know that Fulmer wants to get into coaching but he may have a vision for the program that isn’t meshing with some candidates.

Lol. Let it play out. You guys are jumping to conclusions. I can't blame you given our history of terrible luck but I still think the fact that we interview Briles brother in law immediately after interviewing Briles most likely points to us trying to land kendall

I am not sold yet on Pruitt turning this around, but he has done some good things in the past year and deserves the opportunity to coach without being sabotaged from within, and that includes hiring whom he wants for OC. Anyone in the UTAD preventing that from happening is abnegating the responsibility entrusted to them by the university, this state, and most importantly the millions of fans who pay his/her/their salaries, and he/she/they need to be shown the door post haste.

Again, if the linked report earlier in the thread is wrong and we interviewed him for a lower position and not OC, then I'm up in arms for nothing. But considering how this program has been run for the last fifteen years, it's more than a little plausible that the report is correct and a fresh new set of matches and lighter fluid are being poured onto the ashes of this program by those entrusted to rebuild it.

Off the Briles coaching tree....yes. UCF didn't do too bad this year either. Plus he's young and will be around for awhile....win-win....
