During the recruiting season for Scotty Hopson UK fans were sure that he was coming to the Big Blew. Drooling over Hopson ensued each night on the call in shows and how UK was now Final Four bound. After the announcement from yesterday jealousy has reared it's ugly head. Now that Hopson is a Vol, UK fans have wrote him off as not being good enough for their beloved program. At times like this I absolutely love living in the middle of the Big Blew! :)

According to them he was not good enough to wear the blue and white, some comments I have heard is, "have fun playing in the NIT" "Have fun losing to KY twice a year." ANd last but not least(the funniest one) Gillispe did not recruit him that hard. It must suck for KY, this has got to hurt.

UK fans are delusional. They still believe they are title contenders year in and out.

They would be saying the exact opposite had they gotten Scotty. If I were Scotty and I saw some of those nut job fans I wouldn't want to go to Kentucky either. Plus why wear blue when you can wear orange?

I think the sane vastly outnumber the delusional here. While we are a contender for the secc we are not nc caliber. 90% of the UK fans seem to think elite eight next year if not a championship. That is the difference.

Yeah that guy had a few posts on the board. He should be required to keep a copy of "Hooked on Phonics" nearby at all times.

My favorite quote was from one Kentucky board, forgot which one. One poster said, Hopson was begging Billy G to recruit him, yes, begging. But Billy G refused, because Billy G knows Hopson was not that good.

I mean I have never seen Hopson play, and I guess I have to wait and see how good he is, and more importantly, how much he can contribute to our program. But saying Hopson was begging Billy G to recruit him just cracks me up.

I just checked Catpause, and I was expecting 5 or 6 threads on Hopson. To my surprise half their board is trashing Hopson. It looks like their in meltdown mode. Some of the things I have read on there are ridiculous. I really didn't think they would blow up like they have.

Sorry, I wasn't going to quote anymore, but I just found this on Catspause. This is from the guy who started the Scotty Hopson thread:

I think that I'm equally happy reading the meltdown on the Kentucky board as I am about actually getting Hopson to come to UT. They have one of the most delusional fan bases I've ever seen, or at least the ones that are on Catspause.

That's how they treated Hopson in December when they thought they weren't getting him. When they thought things had changed, they started praising him.

That fan base didn't deserve this recruit as much as we did, IMO. I am glad it worked out.

My favorite posts was from a guy on there, 'Tail Spin'. He was trashing Hopson because of the time he decided to announce. This guy actually said that Hopson was showing a tremendous amount of disrespect for the "Wildcat Nation" by announcing now, since they are in such a state of mourning.

I guess Scotty was unaware that he needed to check with every fan from Tennessee, MS State, L'ville, KY, and the rest of the schools after him to make sure that everyone was feeling okay for him to announce his college choice.

Another posters on there said Jody Meeks(yes the same guy that couldn't get off their bench due to injury) was going to drop 30 on this "clown".

If this is what blue koolaid does to you then can I please get a Big Gulp of the orange!

This will just add greatly to the rivalry. I already had a UK fan here at the firehouse fire up over it. They booed Isiah Victor, they'll boo him. And they will boo hoo next year!
