I’d say losing 20 would have helped. That play where he went coast to coast and dunked It showed me a higher level of athleticism than we’d seen earlier in the year. Jalen was almost apologetic in his last interview. He came in out of shape. I’d really like to see him back as he has a way of creating space that the others didn’t. His rebounding was also elite. Obviously woukd need to work on free throws and conditioning.Carey can handle smaller players but he cant jump. He'd be a hoss at the Div II level
I am sure he was thinking "what was I thinking" after Carey missed his 5th consecutive free throw while hitting 20% from point blank range in a big SEC game. After he slaughtered our entire team when we played against him I thought he was the best choice of the portal players.Barnes might be getting cut throat. He may realize that the roster is more important than coaching. Michigan were men against us.
Tobe Awaka, Cade Phillips and Felix Okpara to start with.Am I wrong but it seems to me Barnes ends up with two types of big men. The first is a "dawg" with very little real basketball skill. The second is a relatively skilled player who has not much "dawg" in him. Help me remember a player who had both qualities.

reality is Tobes game doesn’t look any different than it did 3 years ago. He’s just older, stronger and more experienced but still no post game other than bull with the left shoulder and little hook or dunk on a rebound.Putting Tobe or Cade in any category with Okpara is crazy work.
Awaka wasn't a dog while here. He was too small to play the 5 and had no range outside of the cylinder to play the 4 and stretch the post. For some reason, people think that Awaka was somehow wronged at Tennessee because he went to a completely different offense and succeeded with a different program.
Same with Cade.
Some people never get challenged enough to require improvement. That’s probably why undersized players like Grant Williams and Johni Broome had so many more moves than larger players of those respective positions.reality is Tobes game doesn’t look any different than it did 3 years ago. I think you're confusing the definitions. But it's a matter of opinion and we're all entitled to our own.Putting Tobe or Cade in any category with Okpara is crazy work.
